Legion AJJ In-House Tournament

In-House competitions are a great way for newer students to get the feel of a big competition without the stress and anxiety of doing a real one, or for more advanced ones a way to get some extra practice in between outside ones. Students will be matched up according to size, age, and skill level. Jiu jitsu is an amazing way for kids to be pushed out of their comfort zone and competitions even more so.

It’s one thing for them to pull off a technique during a friendly spar in class. It’s quite another thing for them to do so when their adrenaline and cortisol levels are spiked because they’re so nervous about a large competition. Of course, this can be intimidating but the high-pressure environment of competition can prepare a child, or adult, for the stress that surrounds a real-life self-defense situation.

We will be recording each match with our Jiu Jitsu X cameras to capture these moments for you to watch and share with your friends and family!

One of the key benefits of competing is seen weeks before the competition even happens. When someone decides to compete, they’re forced to assess their strengths and weaknesses. In what areas are they comfortable, and what areas do they need to work on. It may be that your child feels competent at attacking from guard, but doesn’t feel confident about passing guard. With a competition looming, they’ll be encouraged to go out of their way to plug those gaps. They also do a good job of showing areas we didn't know we are weak in.

Be sure to sign up soon for early bird pricing! The earlier we can get brackets made the better match ups we can make. Brackets will be made double-elimination style so each student will get at least 2 matches.
