Summit Submission Series 6

The Summit Submission Series is Colorado's Premier Submission Only EBI style Double Elimination Tournament with Cash Prizes in All Divisions.

Summit Submission Series 6:  Saturday June 3rd, 2023

Location: 10th Planet Denver 6161 W 44th Ave, Ste 150, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, 80033, United States.

Doors Open: @ 9:00am. Event starts: @ 10:00am.

FORMAT and PROTOCOL: The Summit Submission Series is an EBI style submission only tournament. We work to get athletes as many matches as possible. If there are 2 athletes in a bracket it will be best 2 out of 3. If there are 3-5 athletes in a bracket we will use true round robin bracketing so everyone will compete against everyone. If there are 6 or more athletes in a bracket we will use a double elimination format with a bronze medal match and a match for true second.

This is a submission only, EBI style tournament. There are no points or advantages.

There are no slams. If you pick your opponent up off of the mat, you are responsible for their safe return.

All submissions are legal.

You cannot roll out of bounds to escape a submission. All effort will be made to allow the action to continue. The wall or the fence does not stop the action. If the action has to be stopped, the match will be restarted in the center in the same position.

Matches are 10 minutes long.

If an athlete is caught in a submission when the time expires in regulation, the match with continue until the athlete escapes or is submitted. You cannot be saved by the bell.

If there is no submission in regulation, the match will go into OT. The OT period consists of 1 round minimum and 3 rounds maximum. Each OT round is 2 minutes. Each athlete will be on both offense and defense during the round. A coin flip will determine which athlete starts on offense.

The athlete on offense has the choice to start on their opponents back in the rear seatbelt position, or on their opponents arm in the spiderweb position. The match is stopped when the defensive athlete escapes or there is a submission.

If the defensive athlete is submitted in the top of the round, they can still win if they submit their opponent in the bottom of the round in less time than they were submitted.

If there is no submission the match moves into the next OT round.

At the end of the third OT round there has been no submission the victor will be decided by which athlete has accumulated the most riding time.
