Enigma Black Widow Austin Open: Saturday, August 19th, 2023

Doors Open at 7:30 AM  |  Check-In Starts at 8 AM  |  Matches Start at 9 AM

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: We will be using a single elimination format. In the case that you lose a match, you will be eliminated from your bracket. The only exception to this will be in a bracket with two athletes, in which they will compete for 2/3 wins.

RULES: We will be using EBI rules with one single overtime round (unless more are needed due to both athletes holding their positions for a full two minutes) for all divisions both in gi and no-gi. Click HERE to see the full breakdown of the rules.

THIS TOURNAMENT IS PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY!

We do not take late registrations or registrations at the event!

The last day to register to compete or to make changes to an existing registration is Thursday, August 17th at 11:59 PM.

Spectators are required to purchase a ticket to Austin Fit Fest and will be granted access to their entire expo featuring a variety of sports! Click HERE and select "General Admission" to get your tickets! Please note that every competitor may bring in one coach with them that will not need to pay admission. They will be given a coaches pass.

COMPETITOR LIST: The competitor list will be live throughout the registration process and can be viewed by checking out the registrations tab on the event page. 

DIVISION MERGERS: After registration closes, competitors who do not have anyone in their division may be merged with another division.

BRACKETS and SCHEDULE: BRACKETS WILL NOT BE POSTED ON SMOOTHCOMP! WE WILL BE USING AN OLD SCHOOL APPROACH AND PUT EACH BRACKET UP ON THE WALL AT THE VENUE SHORTLY BEFORE THEY BEGIN!

We will hold a rules meeting at 8:30 AM.

All divisions (all ages) will begin at 9 AM. This is a very small tournament so we will only be running one single mat. Please be at the venue and ready to compete by 9 AM.

Lower ranks/beginner divisions will go first and we will finish with the higher rank/advanced divisions. Same goes for the order of weight classes. We will go from lightest to heaviest.

WEIGH INS: You must weigh in on the day of the tournament. You do not have to weigh in with your gi on. You only need to weigh in once even if you are competing in multiple divisions. You must weigh in at least 30 minutes before your the scheduled start time (9 AM) and have made the weight, or else you will be disqualified and removed from your brackets. **Please note that if you miss weight, you will be moved up a weight class.

MEDIC ON HAND: There will be a trained and professional medic at the tournament.
