In an effort to prevent further spreading of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), Alberta has implemented new public health restrictions for events with more than 250 attendees. This includes large sporting events. Unfortunately, because of this, we are unable to hold our event at this time, and have to postpone it.

We continue to work with Alberta Health on the possibility of holding the event at a later date. Please stay tuned for further updates.

Please allow 5 business days for us to refund your event registration.

We thank you for your support & understanding. We hope that everything will get back to normal as soon as possible.

True North Grappling Ltd.

Our tournament is open to competitors of all belt and skill levels from ages 5 & older in Gi and No-Gi.

It is our mission to provide athletes with a platform to compete at an international level versus the best grapplers in Canada and from abroad, while offering developing competitors an opportunity to showcase their skill at a grass-roots level.

Venue opens: 8:00 AM

Event start: 8:30 AM

All spectators over 10 years old must have a spectator pass for entry to the competition area.  Admission passes can be purchased at the event. Free seating is available in the stands overlooking the tournament site.

If registered for only No-Gi, competitors must weigh in wearing their rash guard & shorts.

Participants must weigh equal to or under their registered weight category. If you leave the bullpen, you need to go through the athlete check-in process again (gi check and weigh in).

Refer to the brackets & schedule link on SmoothComp in order to know when you should be at the event and inside the warm up/bull pen area.

Each Academy with registered competitors can designate up to 2 coaches to receive spectator passes at no cost. If 1-2 competitors; 1 free coach pass will be issued.

Coaches -  please register your Academy in Smoothcomp as this will allow you to track your competitors & allow your students to register under the correct Academy name & Affiliation.  Ensure your academy name is correct in SmoothComp as this will make certain competitors from the same academy are not placed against each other in the first round on draws.
