2nd Annual Four States Invitational

2nd ANNUAL FOUR STATES INVITATIONAL Judo and JiuJitsu Competition

We are excited to announce the 2nd annual tournament to be hosted in Joplin, MO.  This tournament will feature both Judo and JiuJitsu.  If you live in the four state area, then this is your chance to experience the best of both worlds for take downs and ground fighting under one roof.  This year is the first year to feature BJJ with this tournament due to last years restrictions.   See you on the mats!

Format: 

Both Judo And JiuJitsu Matches

Athletes must provide proof of active membership in USJA, USJF, ATFA  or USA Judo in order to compete.  You can have temporary/event memberships to cover the requirement.  

All Matches with 4 or less will be round robin and 5 or more will be double elimination. 

Judo Kansetsu-Waza will only be allowed in senior advanced and advanced master divisions. 

BJJ Point Rules will be the same as for US Grappling: 4 for the mount, 4 for the back, 3 for a guard pass, 2 for a sweep, 2 for a take down, 2 for knee on stomach, and 2 for a solid submission attempt that was stopped out of bounds - All positions must be held and controlled for 3 seconds -There is no “Advantage” scoring.   The only submission below the waist that is legal for white, blue, and purple belts are straight ankle locks (AKA straight footlock).  Kneebars, heel hooks figure-four toeholds, and compression locks (AKA “slicers”, “crushers”) are legal in brown and black belt divisions only.  Reaping the knee, twisting knee locks, “flying scissor” takedowns, and neck cranks are never legal in gi matches.  Jumping guard is illegal for white belt divisions.  

Membership or Event pass is required for this event due to sanctioning.  You can be a member or obtain a temporary/event pass from one of these organizations:  USJA, USJF, AJJF, ATFA  or USA Judo.  All organizations have temporary/trial/event passes available.  

Judo Divisions for this Tournament:   Junior Female Novice - Junior Male Novice - Junior Female  Advance -  Junior Male Advance - Master Female (30 yo+) Novice - Master Male (30 yo+)  Novice - Master Female (30 yo+) Advance - Master Male (30 yo+)  Advance -  Senior Female Novice (green belt & below)   -  Senior Female Advanced (brown & black belts)  - Senior Male Novice (green belt & below) - Senior Male Advanced (brown & black belts) 

GI BJJ Divisions for this Tournament:  Adult BJJ Male White -    Adult BJJ Female White - Adult BJJ Male Blue/Purple  -  Adult BJJ Female Blue/Purple - Adult BJJ Male Brown/Black - Adult BJJ Female Brown/Black

1st Division is $30 with 2nd or more divisions being $20 for normal registration.  Late 1st division is $50 with 2nd or more divisions being $25.

COMPETITOR LISTS: Competitor Lists and brackets will be LIVE throughout the registration process and can be viewed by checking out the registrations tab on the event page.    

DIVISION MERGERS: After change deadline, competitors who do not have anyone in their division group may be merged with another division.

WEIGH-INS:  Friday 5-8pm (Location TBD), Saturday Weight Checks at Venue 8-930am.  You do not have to weigh-in with your gi on. You only need to weigh-in once if competing in several divisions.    

All competitors will be required to sign additional waivers for the venue and the tournament at weigh-in/check-in.  Bring proof of membership to check-in/Weigh-in.

    This is a free entry if you compete in any other division. This will be BJJ rules with heavy emphasis on no stalling. Takedowns will count for 4 points in this division with all other points the same. Match stood up with stalling.
