FREE RASH GUARD:

All competitors in The Tower will get a rash guard that is free of charge.

All athletes are required to wear this rash guard during their matches. This rash guard is the athlete's to keep after conclusion of the competition. The reason for the rash guard is to keep sponsors interested in helping us run the competition.

The promoter will reach out to all athletes in advance and ask what size they would prefer for their rash guard. Samples and designs are also available upon request and will be posted to social media.

NOTE TO COMPETITORS:

The matchmaking process for this event is live. Weight ranges listed for belt levels are subject to change as competitors sign up at different weights. The ranges listed should be first consideration for sign ups, but feel free to reach out if you are close to the listed weight at each belt level and would like to compete. Emails can be sent to [email protected]
If divisions fill completely we may open new divisions to competitors. Reaching out by email and making us aware of your interest in competing is the best way to help us decide on which, if any, divisions we add to the competition.

RULES:

The tournament is single elimination submission only. After registration closes or upon entries being filled for a particular division/belt level brackets will be released.

Any match that does not end in submission will be decided via decision made by three anonymous judges who are watching the match. The judges will pick a winner based on three criteria:

1. Submission Attempts

2. Control

3. Aggression

These criteria are listed in no particular order.

Any decision made by the judges or a referee (in terms of stopping a fight due to an athlete tapping out) is final.

See our full set of rules including legal and illegal techniques for each belt level here.

AWARDS:

There will be a cash prize given to the winner of each division/belt level. The award scales are listed below.

BLUE BELT - $400

PURPLE BELT - $400

BROWN BELT - $400

BLACK BELT - $1,000

To win a division/belt level an athlete must win all of their matches without losing. The maximum number of matches an athlete would compete in would be 3.

The winner of each division will also receive a trophy and the runner up will receive a medal.

As a reminder the tournament is single elimination.

WEIGH-INS:

ALL WEIGH-INS WILL BE HELD MARCH 26th THE DAY BEFORE THE COMPETITION, DURING THE WAR UNDER THE LIGHTS NOVICE CUP.

The location for weigh-ins is the same as the location for the tournament, William David Sitton Field.
Every athlete will report to the weigh-in table at the War Under the Lights Novice Cup at 7:00 PM. This will be halfway through the novice cup. Matches will be stopped to announce and conduct weigh ins, and they will resume once every athlete for The Tower has weighed in.

There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight, they will be immediately disqualified.

Weight classes for each belt level are in 20 lb ranges due to the nature of superfights. An athlete must weigh in their weight range according to their belt level or they will be disqualified. Refunds are not given due to disqualification.

Example: An athlete registered in the purple belt division weighing 157 lbs is eligible to compete, but an athlete weighing 144 lbs or 166 lbs will be disqualified. There is no weight allowance.
