2022 SaskBJJ Provincial Championships

The 2022 SaskBJJ Provincial Championships will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Sask Polytechnic Moose Jaw Campus. The event is being hosted by Control Jiu Jitsu and sanctioned by the Saskatchewan Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Inc.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All athletes must be residents of Saskatchewan in order to compete.

Coaches and athletes must have a valid 2022 SaskBJJ membership.  If you do not have a SaskBJJ membership please purchase one before filling out this registration form.  

Official Event Date:  Saturday, November 12 

Doors open:  8am

Opening ceremony and tournament start time: 9am

Registration Deadline: November 9, 2022.

Early Bird Registration: On or before November 2, 2022 (FREE T-SHIRT)

Location:  Sask Polytechnic Moose Jaw Campus - Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

With respect to the remembrance day long weekend, a donation will be made on behalf of Control BJJ and SaskBJJ to the Wounded Warriors Project. 

PRE-REGISTRATION FEES

Competitors 14 years and younger – $65.00 

Competitors 15 years and older – $75.00 

Adult competitors – $75.00 

Absolute divisions

All Fees for competitors after pre-registration will be an additional $10.00.

Spectator TICKET PRICES

Cash only at the door.

Adults – $10.00

Kids over 5-18 years of age – $5.00

Kids 5 years and under are admitted FREE

WEIGH INS

All competitors will weigh in with the Gi on before their first fight.

There is only one opportunity to check an athlete's weight. If the competitor does not make weight, they will be immediately disqualified.

IMPORTANT:  Please make sure that you register your weight with the gi on and are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions the day of the tournament if you do not make weight for your designated division. No changes will be accepted on the tournament day, no refunds.  

Coaches Information

All coaches planning to be in the athlete area need to pre-register by sending in their Respect in Sport certificate of completion, name and club.  If you have already sent in this information we will have it on file and you do not need to resend.  Please send in your certificate to [email protected] if you have not yet registered as a coach.

All registered coaches need to also have a valid SaskBJJ membership.

Coaches please register your academy in SmoothcompThis will allow you to track your competitors and allow your students to register under the correct Academy Name.  This will also ensure competitors will not compete against teammates in the first round.

Call for Referees

If your club would like to submit the name of a referee who has successfully completed the SaskBJJ referee course, please forward the name and contact information to [email protected].  We are looking for referee representation from as many clubs as possible.  Referees will be paid for their time.

Parent Information

Parents should also register an account with Smoothcomp to manage and create profiles for 1 or more children during the registration process.  This will allow you to track your child's match times throughout the day.

Fellipe Andrew Seminar

This year we are excited to announce a gi seminar to coincide with this year’s tournament.  Control BJJ will be hosting  Fellipe Andrew at the club on November 10 and Sask Polytechnic on Nov 11.   The seminar will take place from 6-9 pm each night and be open to athletes aged 16 and older.  Cost: $125.00 for 1 day and $150.00 for 2 days.  Email: [email protected] for more information. Referee seminar

Tony Issac back is back from the Canadian Jiu Jitsu Association to host a referee seminar prior to the provincial championships.  Cost: $25.00 members and $50.00 non members.  Maximum 30 participants.  To register please email:  [email protected].  Any referees registered to work during the tournament can attend the seminar for a free refresher.  Time and place:  3-6pm at Sask Polytechnic Moose Jaw.
