Rickson Gracie Cup

The Rickson Gracie Cup, in association with the National Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and supported by JJGF, is proud to announce the Rickson Gracie Cup TEXAS.

The Rickson Gracie Cup will be held at the Arlington Convention Center, TX

REGISTRATION FEE

Until September 30th - $80

After September 30th - $95

ABSOLUTE DIVISION

All Adult and Master competitors can register for the Absolute Division for an additional fee of $20.

Competitors must register for the Absolute Division in advance. When registering for the Adult or Master division, you will be given the option to register for the Absolute Division. If you choose not to add the Absolute Division upon tournament registration you will NOT be able to select that option at a later date. 

NOTE: Competitors previously registered to compete in the Absolute Division, that are disqualified for exceeding the weight allowance of his/her own division may still compete in the Absolute. 

"NO SHOW" policy: Competitors that do not show up to compete in the weight division, or that has been disqualified for not showing up on time for his/her match will not be allowed to participate in the Absolute Division. No refund or credit will be issued.

RICKSON GRACIE SEMINAR

The tournament will feature an exclusive seminar with Master Rickson Gracie. 

Cost: FREE. Restricted to Rickson Gracie Cup competitors only.

Time: The seminar will start immediately after the kids division. Exact time will be posted once the tournament registration is closed.

ATTENTION: Event spectators are welcome to watch the seminar. However, only registered competitors are allowed to participate.

Rickson Gracie Cup applies the official BJJ rules from the JJGF.

AGE DIVISIONS & WEIGHT CATEGORIES 

The Rickson Gracie Cup is open to kids (4 yrs +), teens, juveniles, adults and masters 1 through 5 competitors. To see all weight divisions available competitors must be logged in. Please, visit the REGISTRATIONS tab and click "REGISTER TO EVENT" button. Once your account is created you will be given options based on your DOB information. 

KIDS DIVISIONS: In order to provide more match opportunities, all kids divisions are grouped within 2 birth years of each other. 

DIVISION CHANGES

Competitors will have until November 1st to make changes to their registration. Changes can be made online, by logging into the account and modifying the registration details. 

NOTE: We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to merge age divisions or/and weight categories in case there is only one competitor in the bracket. 

BRACKETS & SCHEDULE

Brackets and tournament schedule will be published on the event page on November 2nd. 

All competitors and spectators will be able to access a REAL-TIME schedule on their mobile device. This feature allows the most up-to-date information regarding brackets, fight time and results.

WEIGH-INS

Competitors must weigh-in before their first match. Once the competitor’s name is called, he/she must report imediately to the weigh-in area, prior to entering the ring. There is only one opportunity to check the weight. 

Competitors must weigh-in on their gi. Weigh-in is mandatory to ALL registered competitors. Competitors who fail to make weight, or do not show up on time for weigh-ins, will be automatically disqualified. 

REMINDER: Competitors previously registered to compete in the Absolute Division, that are disqualified for exceeding the weight allowance of his/her own division may still compete in the Absolute. Competitors that do not show up to compete in the weight division, or get disqualified for not appearing when his/her name is called for the weigh-ins will not be allowed to participate in the Absolute Division.

IMPORTANT: No refund or credits will be given to competitors who fail to appear for the weigh-ins, or do not make weight. Please consider drive time, parking and traffic, as these are not valid reasons for missing weigh-ins.

COACH INFORMATION

The RGC does not feature a designated area for coaches. Therefore, access to the mat area is restricted to competitors only. Coaches, teammates and spectators must maintain a respectful atitude at all times towards the referees, staff and competitors. 

RESULTS

Results are live updated to and readily available on the results tab of the event page.

BEST ACADEMY TROPHIES

The top 3 academies will be awarded custom RGC trophies. Best Academy points for competitors 18 years old and older will be counted separately from youth categories. The BEST ACADEMY categories are as follow:

BEST ACADEMY KIDS (Mighty -Mite, Pee-Wee, Junior, Teen, Juvenile)

BEST ACADEMY ADULTS (Adult, Master 1-5)

Best Academy Points:

Gold = 9 Points

Silver = 3 Points

Bronze = 1 Point

REFUND POLICY

Refunds can be requested until October 31st. Once the tournament registration closes, no refunds will be issued. Refunds can only be requested online, by logging into the tournament registration page. Absolutely NO refund will be given after October 31st. 

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Compete at this tournament at your own risk. The organization is not liable for any injuries that happens during the tournament. By registering for the Rickson Gracie Cup, you assume full responsibility and liability for all damages, injuries and losses that you, or your child may sustain while participating in the tournament. 

NON WRITTEN RULES

IMPORTANT INFO

- Refer to the Brackets & Schedule link to know when you should be at the event and inside the warm up area.

- It is mandatory to have an official government photo ID at all times.

- Athletes who place in 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their division will receive a medal at the event.

- Any false information provided during registration such as, but not limited to, belt rank or date of birth, may lead to immediate disqualification. 

- Competitors can change their current division by login in to their event profile.

- The Rickson Gracie Cup reserves the right to close registration before Oct. 31st if capacity is reached.
