Purple Haze is the follow-up to the wildly successful Battle of the Blues that took place in June!

With The Battle of the Blues we awarded a $500 payday and a trophy to the three winners. Two of those blue belts also received their purple belt soon after the event!

With Purple Haze we're looking to feature the top purple belts for men and women, but this time the prize is doubling to $1,000 !!!

For the men there will be two brackets:
Bracket 1: absolute gi 175 lbs & below
Bracket 2: absolute gi over 175 lbs

For the women there will be one absolute gi bracket.

Winners of each bracket will receive $1,000 and a trophy. Each entry also receives an event shirt.
(Please note that if any of the brackets do not bring in registrations to total $1,000 or more, then the prize will be decreased. Last event this was not an issue).

Elite Edge is located at 3550 Broad Street, Chamblee, GA 30341. Doors open at 3 pm and event begins at 4 pm.

RULES
Early rounds will be one round of 6 minutes.

The semifinals and finals will be two rounds of 4 minutes with a 3rd round if necessary.

All matches will follow the same rules as NFC JJ competitions except there will only be one referee per match. For the finals we will have 3 referees.

ARRIVAL TIMES FOR COMPETITORS
Please arrive to Elite Edge at 2:30 pm. Once you arrive, get in your gi and we'll let you weighin (note that we only need to weigh in the men competing under 175 lbs. Others do not need to weigh in). Once you make weight, you don’t need to weighin again for future rounds if you win. We have the mandatory fighters' rules meeting at 3 pm and then warmup time and event begins promptly at 4 pm.

REGISTRATIONS
Registration prices are:
$75: Now until August 2 (includes free event shirt & 2 free coaches passes)
$100: August 2 - September 9 at 11:59 pm (includes free event shirt & 2 free coaches passes)
September 9 at 11:59 pm: Registration ends
No refunds available if you get injured, fake an injury, back out or miss weight. 

MATS
We will have two mats running at a time for the earlier rounds. For the semifinals and finals it will be reduced to one mat.

FOOD & DRINK
There will be food and drinks available throughout the day at the venue.

WHAT IF COVID 19 GETS WORSE AND THE EVENT IS CANCELLED?
If the event is cancelled, we will refund 100% of the money to competitors.

WHAT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WILL THE NFC BE USING FOR THIS EVENT?
We will be using all of the safety measures that are in place at other business’ at the time of the event. Plus regular cleaning of the mats between each match. And constant cleaning of the warmup mats and temperature check of all competitors, trainers, fans and staff. 

We'll also have Covid-19 antibody fast result finger prick testing on site for everyone at only $60 with results in 10 minutes. 

REAL TIME SCHEDULE
*We are utilizing Smoothcomp registration for this event. This means during the tournament you'll be able to see the live updated schedule for both mats and see when you'll be competing. A real-time schedule by bracket and real-time schedule by match order will be featured on large TV monitors at the event allowing you access to the most up-to-date information available. During the event, you will be able to access this information from your mobile device.
