Copa Virginia - Ages 17 & Under

Are you looking for the premier jiu jitsu tournament for kids that is safe, runs on time, and offers Grand Prize divisions? 

"Copa Virginia - Ages 17 & Under" is the tournament for you!

"Copa Virginia - Ages 17 & Under" will be running Gi - only tournament with male and female divisions. 

All participants need to be 17 years old or younger to participate.

No participants younger than 6 years old will be accepted.

We will be offering Regular and Grand Prize divisions:

The Juvenile Boys Grand Prize division (16-17 years old) will award a PlayStation - 4 for 1st Place.

The Teen Boys Grand Prize division (14-15 years old) will award a Nintendo 3DS XL for 1st Place.

The Juvenile Girls Grand Prize division (16-17 years old) will award an (unlocked) Samsung cell phone.

All Grand-Prizes will be offered with a gift receipt. The 1st place winner will be free to change the Prize at the store of purchase for any other item(s) of equal value.

To sign up for a Gran-Prize division you will need to be registered in a Regular division first. 

All parents need to read/sign the waiver online during the application process.

Regular Divisions:

Juvenile Boys (16 & 17 years old): $70, late registration $85.

Boys (14 - 15, 12 - 13, 10 - 11, 8 - 9, 6 - 7 years old divisions): $60, late registration $75

Juvenile Girls (16 & 17 years old): $70, late registration $85.

Girls (14 - 15, 12 - 13, 10 - 11, 8 - 9, 6 - 7 years old divisions): $60, late registration $75.

Upon registration you will be asked for your belt level and weight division.

Depending on athlete turnout, "Copa Virginia - Ages 17 & Under" reserves the right to combine weight, age, belt, as well as gender divisions. 

Every participant in the Regular Divisions will be guaranteed at least two matches.

Grand Prize Divisions:

Juvenile Boys (16 & 17 years old): additional $25, late registration $35.

Teen Boys (14 & 15 years old divisions): additional $25, late registration $35.

Juvenile Girls (16 & 17 years old): additional $25, late registration $35.

The above, will be the ONLY Grand Prize divisions available.

All Grand Prize divisions are open (all) weight(s) & open (all) belt level(s)

Depending on athlete turnout, "Copa Virginia - Ages 17 & Under" reserves the right to combine the Juvenile Boys & Girls divisions and/or Juvenile Boys & Teen Boys. In any of these cases, the 1st place winner will get to select one Grand Prize offered of his/her liking from the combined divisions. There will be no prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. However, medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

The Grand Prize Divisions will be single-elimination.

Time limits for matches are the following:

16 & 17 years old - 5min

14 & 15 years old - 4min

12 & 13 years old - 4min

10 & 11 years old - 4min

8 & 9 years old - 3min

6 & 7 years old - 2min   

Parents/Guardians in order to register your kids, you can start by creating an Account for yourself and then add your kid as a new Profile from your Account in order to use the same email address. If you have several kids, you will need to switch Profiles and pay for each child before you register for the next one; you can have multiple profiles per one account/email. Available entries (divisions) will be visible based on the your profile information (i.e. age) so, some divisions will be unavailable for registration (greyed out) to avoid mistakes due to age restrictions. Please note that registration/brackets/scoreboards is based on the Profile's info (name/date of birth). Therefore if you use your own Profile (instead of you kid's) it will not work due to the age restrictions for the divisions.                        

Last day for the regular price registration is 10 May (11:59pm).

Last day for the late registration is 17 May (11:59pm).

In order to ensure a smooth running tournament all competitors must pre-register. There will be no same-day registrations. Last day/time to register and/or edit your registration is Thursday 17 May, 11:59pm. 

All participants will weigh-in with the Gi on. Weigh-ins will take place on the day of the tournament and before the first scheduled match of each participant to discourage weight cutting.

On the day of the event all participants/parents/guardians can monitor their match times and general tournament progress including results, on their cell phones/mobile devices via their Smoothcomp account/registration.

Spectator Tickets: $10 per person when you purchase ticket online (last day for online purchase 17 May 11:59pm). $15 per person at the door. If you purchase your tickets online please be ready to provide a soft or hard copy of your purchase/receipt at the door.

Coaches enter for FREE (only one coach per academy). Coaches feel free to email us your name and academy to ensure free entry and avoid confusion.

Please note:

a) "Copa Virginia - Ages 17 & Under" is an event run by DCJJ LLC.

b) Upon registration your electronic receipt will state DCJJ LLC as the merchant.

c) There will be no refunds upon cancellation of one's registration.
