2021 U.S. National MMA Youth Championships & World Team Selection

1. Please do not "cherry pick" divisions when registering. Weights frequently change and we anticipate many athletes will change divisions before or at the tournament. We do not want anyone to cut weight, contact us if you need to move up in weight. 
2.  Team USA Warm up Suits and Fight Gear ordered for 2020 will be delivered to all who ordered in advance, new orders will be available after the national championships for U.S. team members only.  
3. This tournament will select the official U.S. Youth team for the 2021 IMMAF World Youth MMA Championships in Istanbul Turkey (July 30 - Aug 1st). There may also be other international youth competition opportunities. 

USFL General Assemble Meeting Friday April 2nd at 7PM: Grills, 4301 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32804. Coaches, Parents and Officials may attend.

COMPETITION FEES:

Regular - $100
Late - $125 (after March 13)
Spectators - $20

1. All brackets limited to 8 entries per age and weight - 1st come first serve
2. Athletes & Coaches must have a Youth Fighters License & Coaches License. See competition gear and other licensing requirements at the USFL LICENSING SITE . 
3. Tournament profits will go to support youth athletes who will represent the United states in the world championships

COMPETITION FORMATS:

1. Bouts will occur in MMA Cages. Two cages will be set up.
2. Preliminary bout of Single Round Matches (3 minutes for ages 8-13yrs / 4 minutes for ages 14-17yrs)
3. Athletes with only 2 competitors will compete in a single bout of 3 rounds of 2 minus. 
4. Athletes in 2 divisions may have to compete for more than 5 rounds.  

BRACKETING:

1. Double elimination w/ loser having a chance to comeback for Gold (4 or more entries)
2. Round Robin- All contestants compete against each other. The following criteria will be used to place entries if a 3 way tie. 1. Most submissions 2. Most Points Earned  (3 entries)
3. Single Bout of 3 rounds – If both athletes go straight to finals.
4. Uncontested Champions (Single Athlete Divisions) will have the option to move up in weight or age to participate in a 2nd category. (Must be within USFL age and weight parameters)
5. We will attempt to make additional girls only brackets for the 11 and under girls who compete in the mixed gender divisions. 

WEIGH IN / CHECK IN/ GEAR INSPECTION/ PRE-BOUT MEDICAL SCREENINGS:

Bring competition gear to include uniform to weigh in/ check in. 

1. Optional Night Prior/Early: Friday April 2nd - 5-7PM  Grills Restaurant 4301 N Orange Blossom Trl, Orlando, FL 32804 (Must weigh in with shorts and Shirt, we will give an extra weigh allowance to accommodate extra clothing). 
2. Regular Check in: Saturday April 3rd: At Venue - 8:15am - 10am. 
3. Mandatory athlete meeting at 10:30am for all athletes to ensure brackets are correct, relay info & notify of options to be in additional divisions. 

NOTE: DO NOT SELECT A WEIGHT CATEGORY THAT REQUIRES ANY FORM OF WEIGHT CUTTING, ESPECIALLY IF YOU INTEND ON PARTICIPATING IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The USFL Board of Directors has approved the following actions for licensees and National Championship registrants.

Prorate of all USFL Licenses:

Coaches and youth fighters licenses have been prorated or extended 9 months from date of expiration due to COVID 19 limitations on competitions since March 2020. Contact [email protected] if you have questions on your license extension.
