English Open BJJ Championships 2021
The English Open BJJ Championship 2021 will be held at the University of East London. The event is the highest ranked competition in the UKBJJA calendar.
The event will have Junior and Juvenile divisions. Adult divisions. Master divisions 1-7.
Juniors and Juveniles Saturday 27th. (Morning)
Coloured belts Sunday 28th (except juvenile)
Full refunds available automatically when you withdraw from the tournament up to Midday on 24th November 2021.
White belts Saturday 27th (some masters white belt divisions may be scheduled for Sunday if necessary for our scheduling but we hope to run all white belt divisions on Saturday)
You can make changes to your registration via your smoothcomp account until midday on 24th November. Event organisers may make changes to your division but it is the athlete's responsibility to move divisions if they wish.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF COMPETITORS TO MOVE DIVISIONS.
THE ORGANISER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MATCHMAKING IF YOUR DIVISION IS EMPTY BUT MAY MAKE CHANGES IF THEY SEE FIT AND YOU HAVE GIVEN PERMISSION.
It is the athlete's responsibility to process refunds if they wish to withdraw. No refunds will be processed by event staff. No refunds after midday on 24th November 2021.
Doors will open at 9:00am both days. First matches will be 10am.
Weigh ins will be on the day you fight, just before your first match. Competitors must weigh in with their gi and belt on. If you fail to make weight you will be DQ'd. You will not be able to move divisions.
Absolute division registration will take place on the day and will only be open to medallists.
If there are no other registrations in your category you will be allowed to move division once registration has closed or you will be entitled to a full refund, available until Wednesday 24th at midday.
Registration fees will be offered at a discounted rate, then a normal rate, then a late entry rate. Please enter early for the best price.
Junior entries include one free spectator.
All competitors will receive a free T shirt
Team trophies will be given to the top three teams in Juniors and juveniles and adult and masters
Coaches must arrange for coaching passes in advance. Minimum 5 competitors per pass.
Weigh ins will be on the day just before your first match. Competitors must weigh in with their gi and belt on.
Gis must be correctly sized as per IBJJF rules, with 4 fingers space in the cuff of sleeves and trousers, and no more than 4 fingers space between hand and gi for jacket and ankle and gi for trousers. If your gi or belt are deemed unsuitable you will have to find a replacement or will be disqualified. Jacket and trousers must be colour matched,
Free car parking is available behind the facility.
Spectator fees are £10 per person, payable on the day.
Matches will follow IBJJF rules.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or admission. The respect rule will be in operation and any competitor, coach or spectator that breaks this rule may be removed from the event.
