Rick Young Academy is a martial arts academy based in Scotland, dedicated to excellence in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other martial arts disciplines. We are proud to offer high-level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in a structured, respectful, and supportive environment where students of all ages and abilities can grow both on and off the mats. Our Head Coach, Professor Rick Young, is a 5th Degree Black Belt with decades of experience in martial arts. His leadership, knowledge, and passion for teaching have shaped a strong team culture built on discipline, integrity, resilience, and continuous improvement. At Rick Young Academy, we believe that martial arts is more than a sport it is a tool for personal development. Through training and competition, our students build confidence, mental strength, and technical excellence. We encourage competition as a pathway to growth. Whether stepping onto the mats for the first time or competing at a high level, our athletes represent our academy with respect, courage, and team spirit. More than an academy, we are a community.
