Kyuzo Kids Open 3

FULL SCHEDULE RELEASED FRIDAY 8TH. TOURNAMENT START 10AM

Kyuzo invites you to our club for a local kids tournament. This will be a repechage event for divisions of 4 or more, and a round-robin for divisions of 2 or 3, meaning every child will get a second chance to compete.

We're going to try something different for this event, and we hope you can join us in trying something new for kids Jiu Jitsu.

What is a silent tournament?
A Silent tournament is when no cheering or shouting is allowed during the matches. 

Why have a silent tournament?
To create a less noisy environment for young kids to compete in. We hope this will make their experience better overall.

What am I not allowed to do?
During your child's match, only his/her coach will be allowed to speak from a designated coaching chair. Everyone else cannot shout instruction or encouragement.

What am I allowed to do?
You can applaud during the match for scores or good technique. At the end of the match you can applaud loudly and cheer when the result is given.

Why are you doing this?
We have noticed that environments at kids tournaments are significantly louder than even adults ones as parents and coaches shout louder and louder to be heard. The result is that no one can be heard, and the noisy environment can be upsetting for kids of all ages who are already very nervous. The most important person for a young fighter to hear is their coach, so this allows them to hear them clearly and to perform at their best.

What will happen if people start to shout?
We'll just stop the tournament and remind everyone. We're sure everyone will see the benefits straight away.

*** CHECK YOUR KIDS WEIGHT AND CATEGORY CAREFULLY***

Edits can be carried out right up to the closing date, but it's vital that you check before the closing date as we don't want to have anyone miss out.

*** MOVES AND MERGES ***

We ask that coaches/parents move their child using the EDIT function. We will move and merge divisions after the closing date to make sure everyone gets matches but we hope you can do this first. When this happens, we will ensure a safe weight and age margin, however any concerns can be forwarded by the coach in charge to the organisers. Parents, please contact via your coach.
