• NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON COMPETITION DAY.

We strongly suggest that athlete registration is completed and finalized before making any travel arrangements.

Any false information provided during registration such as, but not limited to, date of birth, may lead to immediate disqualification. Such actions are subject to suspension or even banishment from future events.

*Any athlete who is proven to be a black belt in judo, has fought MMA professionally, has an amateur MMA record or has proven experience in wrestling, Olympic wrestling or Greco-Roman wrestling, cannot participate in any True North Grappling Ltd. event as a white belt.

$5,000 No-Gi Grand Prix:

PRIZE: $5000 (CAD)

• All Belt levels (white, blue, purple, brown, black)

• IBJJF Black Belt Rules (No Advantages)

•  5 minute matches with a 10 minute semi-finals & final.

• Single elimination

• Max. 2 competitors per team/academy
• Fake matches or close out will result in a disqualification with no prize.

REGISTRATION CHANGES:

Division or weight changes, errors or additions can be made by accessing your SmoothComp account. No changes will be allowed after registration closes.

COMPETITION DAY:

SHOW UP TIME & WEIGH IN (No weight allowances)

It is the responsibility of the athlete to know the rules and guidelines pertaining to the sport as outlined in the IBJJF Rules Book.

It is mandatory to have government-issued photo ID at all times for ages 16+. Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show a valid photo ID to the officials; make sure you have it on hand.

Competitors must be at the venue ready to compete one hour prior to the start time for their division in case the tournament is running earlier than expected. The division start time, posted in the event’s schedule, is only an estimated start time. The division start time can vary throughout the event day due to several factors that are beyond our control.

The official weight measurements of this event is in POUNDS. Official weigh-in will occur immediately before the first fight. Only 1 attempt to make weight is allowed. Be advised the athletes will be disqualified in their division if they weigh in heavier than the weight listed for the division they registered in. There are no weight allowances.

MEDALS:

Athletes who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their division will receive a medal at the event.

All the medals should be picked up at the event's podium. True North Grappling Ltd. does not mail out unclaimed or lost medals after the competition.

Each Academy with registered competitors can have  MAXIMUM of 2 coaches registered.

COACHES - Ensure your Academy is correctly registered in Smoothcomp including affiliation.  This will allow you to track your competitors and allow your students to register under the correct Academy name and affiliation.  This will also ensure competitors from the same Academy will not be placed against each other in the first round of draws.

Coach Manager Account Set-Up 

Be respectful. Yelling at referees or staff will not be tolerated. If this occurs, you will be asked to leave. 

Parents you can also register an account with SmoothComp to manage and create profiles for more that 1 child during the registration process.

SPECTATORS:

$10/person

$20/family

All spectators over 7 years old must have a spectator pass for entry to the competition area.  Admission passes can be purchased at the event. 

OTHER:

TRUE NORTH GRAPPLING LTD. RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE REGISTRATION WHEN CAPACITY HAS BEEN REACHED OR AT THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.
