Submission War has 3 goal

make every fight entertaining and submission goal oriented.

make tournaments cheap and available to everybody.

increasing tournament frequency to allow Torontonian to be better prepared for national and international events.

No gi start October 16 at 10 am 

Come one hour early, 5 minutes late and you are DQ

It's double elimination bracket, but if you get submit you are out of the bracket.

KIDS RULES 4-6 years old

The fight last 6 minutes.

every time one of the two kids, mount, take the back or close the guard for 3 seconds we stop the fight, give one point and start again.

If one of the two kids go belly down and the other kids do a belly down mount for 3 seconds, we stop the fight and give 5 points.

the first that reach 3 points win.

no submission.

KIDS RULES 6-7/8-9 years old

​The fight is 6 minutes.

position have to be hold for 3 second to make points.

  • Passing the guard = 3 points - (In order to get the points, the judges will be looking for control, where at least 75% of the opponent’s back should be on the mat).
  • Mount position = 2 points.
  • belly down mount = 15 points
  • Back control with hooks = 3 points - (Both hooks and body triangle are acceptable. If you take one hook out or release your body triangle for more than 3 secs and put your hooks or body triangle back in for 3 secs or more, you will score again. Your hooks must not be over any of the shoulders).
  • Takedown (ends Guard or Half Guard) = 2 points - (Opponent’s butt or back needs to be on the mats for 3 secs).
  • Clean Takedown (ends passed the guard) = 4 points - (You must be outside the guard and 75% or more of your opponent’s back must be on the mat.)
  • pulling guard = -1.
  • close guard = 1 point
  • 411 = 2 point (only if there is control of both leg for 3 seconds)
  • when reach mount or back control for 1 minutes with no changing position, we stand up the two kids and start again
  • first reaching 10 point win in normal or over time.

If the point are the same after 6 minutes we go to 6 minutes over time and we add this rules

  • Knee on stomach = 2 points - (Either the inside or outside knee can score, the knee must be in the middle of the stomach and not chest or the sides of the stomach. Opponent can’t be on their side. If you score with knee on the stomach and then remove your knee for 3 secs or more and put your knee back on the stomach for 3 secs or more, you will score again. The positioning of the other leg is irrelevant).
  • Sweeps (ends Guard or Half Guard) = 2 points - (Sweep is considered when two athletes are facing each other, change the position from bottom to top and establish for 3 secs or more.).
  • Clean Sweep (ends passed the guard) = 4 points - (When facing each other, change the position from bottom to top ending up outside guard, while more than 75% of opponent’s back is on the floor and establish for 3 secs or more).

  • Clean Takedown (ends passed the guard) = 4 points - (You must be outside the guard and not be in the threat of a submission and 75% or more of your opponent’s back must be on the mat. You must solidify the position for 3 secs or more).
  • Sweeps (ends Guard or Half Guard) = 2 points - (Sweep is considered when two athletes are facing each other, change the position from bottom to top and establish for 3 secs or more. You must not be in the threat of a submission).
  • Clean Sweep (ends passed the guard) = 4 points - (When facing each other, change the position from bottom to top ending up outside guard, while more than 75% of opponent’s back is on the floor and establish for 3 secs or more. You must not be in the threat of a submission).
  • close guard = 1 point
  • 411 = 2 point (only if there is control of both leg for 3 seconds)
  • pulling guard = -1 point (if more than 3 seconds)
  • Reversals are considered sweeps. If you are being held in side-control or mount and reverse the position from top to bottom you will be awarded points as well, either 2points if you end up in guard and 4 points if you end up in side-control.
  • Every sweep must be completed in one continuous motion in order to get points awarded.
  • Points for a sweep will be awarded only if the fighter initiates the sweep, not if he is being attacked by his opponent and then he ends up on top.
  • When changing multiple positions, points will be awarded only for the position that has been established for 3 seconds or more.
  • When passing the guard straight to mount or knee on the stomach, points will only be awarded for passing the guard.
  • with teens, The referee can stop the fight and call a win if he consider a risk of injury.
  • choke are no allowed until 14 years old.
  • teen/white/blue/purple/brown and black division don't allowed heel hook.
  • teens, white, blue, purple, brown and black belt, slam are not allowed.
  • slam are allowed at black belt to escape a submission (arm bar/triangle).
  • white and Teens belt  = 3 minutes no point (negative point) 3 minutes with point (positive and negative) possible overtime of 3 minutes (positive and negative restarting up) possible EBI over time and possible referee decision.
  • blue belt = 4 minutes no point (negative point) 4 minutes with point (positive and negative) possible overtime of 4 minutes (positive and negative restarting up) possible EBI over time and possible referee decision.
  • purple belt  = 6 minutes no point (negative point) 6 minutes with point (positive and negative) possible overtime of 6 minutes (positive and negative restarting up) possible EBI over time and possible referee decision.
  • brown belt = 8 minutes no point (negative point) 8 minutes with point (positive and negative) possible overtime of 8 minutes (positive and negative restarting up) possible EBI over time and possible referee decision.
  • black belt = 10 minutes no point (negative point) 10 minutes with point (positive and negative) possible overtime of 10 minutes (positive and negative restarting up) possible EBI over time and possible referee decision.

EBI over time

• Competitors flip a coin to decide who goes first
• Competitors choose to start attacking from the back or 'spiderweb' position (armbar)
• Competitors take turns to attack from chosen position
• If one competitor submits, and the other does not (opponent escapes), he is declared winner
• If both competitors escape, we move to the next overtime round (maximum 3 overtime rounds)
• If there are no submissions at the end of the three overtime rounds, the competitor with the fastest combined escape time wins the match.

Absolute

At the event you will be allowed to register for absolute division.
