Divisions 

Signing up for the tournament automatically enters you in both Gi and no Gi. You may opt out of one of the brackets but we suggest doing both as you may want to avenge your losses ;).   

kids divisions will be divided by age and rank with deviation of up to three years and three belt ranks.

age divisions 5-7 8-10 11-13 (14+ will compete at their weight in adult brackets)

Adult divisions will be separated by Jiujitsu rank in Gi and no Gi. We encourage competitor to compete up a rank if they feel inclined. 

In the event of a light bracket, ranks and weight classes may be combined. A reminder, the mission statement of our tournament is to provide a challenging atmosphere and a high number of matches.

Match time and structure 

Five minute sub only rounds. Draws to be decided by positional ride time. This would award you one point toward the round robin win. Or more likely be called as a draw. This would award no points toward the round robin. 

Illegal moves 

1. eye gouging 
2. Oil check 
3. Fish hook 
4. Biting 
5. Heel hooks white belt gi (legal no gi at all levels) we added this rule to encourage individual who train at gyms who don't allow heel hooks to compete with us. 
6. whining (emotional arguing with officials will not be tolerated from coaches or competitors. If a mistake was made take it up with the show runner before the conclusion of the bracket we will do our best to come to a fair resolution)
7. Twisting leg locks under 14 years old (toe hold heel hook)
8. Slamming (if a competitor is lifted of the ground and held for 3 seconds the match will be stopped and the "lifter" will be awarded the dominant position of their choice) 
9. Striking (punch kick ext. A warning may be given by the ref if he/she believes the strike to be inadvertent. There will be an optional 2 minute recovery period. A strike with clear malace and intent will result in immediate expulsion from the premises with no refund.)

Round robin structure 

Three points will be awarded for a submission

One point will be awarded for a ride time decision 

Zero points will be awarded for a draw. 

The competitor with the most points will win. 

A tie in the round robin points will be decided by a sub only head to head match. 

spectators: spectator fees will be $15 at the door $10 pre paid

coaches: will attend for free with a limit of 2 coaches per gym (we won't check don't be a dick)
