National Grappling League | City Debut

You asked and we delivered! National Grappling League is making its debut in Auckland city for what could be our biggest event ever. We had lots of Auckland academies make the trip all across the countryside to compete last season but this year, we are coming to you!

If this is your first-ever National Grappling League event, then you are in for a treat!

We will be once again running a season format which will culminate in a Season Championship event in early 2024.

Ranking Divisions

White, Blue, Purple, Brown, & Black 

Note: If you are a pro MMA fighter or a black belt in another martial art, you are ineligible for the white belt division.

Medals will be presented shortly after divisions have finished. There won’t be any unnecessary or unwanted hanging around, the option to turn up, compete and go home will be there. 

NOTE* Gym owners and Head coaches will be invited for free. Contact via one of our social pages to make arrangements!

Kids/Youth/Teens Divisions

Ages 8-9:

White, Grey, Yellow, Orange+Green

Ages 10-12:

White, Grey, Yellow, Orange+Green

Ages 13-14:

White, Grey, Yellow, Orange+Green

Ages 15-17:

White, Grey+Yellow, Orange+Green+Blue

Please note: If there is a plus between belt divisions it means they will be merged together to ensure every competitor has a good amount of close in skill level matches.

Mens:

Featherweight - under 66kg

Lightweight - under 72kg

Welterweight - under 79kg

Middleweight - under 87kg

Light Heavyweight - under 95kg

Heavyweight - above 96kg

Womens:

Lightweight - under 60kg

Middleweight - under 70kg
