Event Overview

The 2024 AIJ Beginner & Intermediate Tournament, hosted by the Australian Institute of Judo, is an exciting competition designed to provide a platform for novice and intermediate judoka to showcase their skills in a supportive and competitive environment.

Eligibility

• This tournament is open to beginner and intermediate judoka.

Weigh-In

Weigh-in will be confirmed by your coach at your home dojo during the week prior to the competition.

Random weight checks will be completed on the day with 5% allowance as per Judo Australia rules.

Competition Categories

Under 9s, Under 11s, Under 13s, Under 15s, Cadets, Juniors, Seniors

For the above age categories we will be offering a beginner and an intermediate division. To determine whether you should register for the beginner or intermediate division, please use the table below.

Veterans - 30 Years and Over

For the veterans age categories we will be offering a beginner and an intermediate division. To determine whether you should register for the beginner or intermediate division, please use the table below.

PLEASE NOTE that players will be grouped according to weight, age, and experience and not in strict categories.

In order to give everyone a match, we may combine weight categories where we see it's possible
