NI Open 2020

Date: Saturday 8th February - commences 9.30am

Venue: Newry Leisure Centre - Free Parking, cafe, changing area and showers at venue

Early bird registration open now: £35 if you register before the 6th January

Normal Registration:  £40 until 31st January  

Late Registration: £45 until 5th February 

MATCHES

Matches will be 5 minutes for white, 6 minutes for blue, 7 for purple and 8 minutes for Brown/black category.

WEIGH IN

Weigh in will take place prior to your division as you enter bullpen, you have only one opportunity to make weight. If the athlete does not make his/her weight, they will be immediately disqualified and are not allowed to compete in either the weight class or open class. Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions, if you do not make your designated division, no changes will be accepted on the tournament day, no refunds.

OPEN CLASS 

This year we will be offering two open classes for male white and blue belts - under 76kg and over 76kg.  If there are enough entrants we will also offer this for purple and brown/black.

FREE ENTRY FOR BROWN/BLACK AND PRO MMA FIGHTERS

We offer free entry to brown and black belts, also any active Pro MMA fighters.

RULES: 

We will be using the standard IBJJF rules, weight divisions and attire. We advise EVERYONE TO READ THE RULES! They can be found on the IBJJF website here - http://ibjjf.org/rules/

LIMITED NUMBER OF SIGN-UPS: 

 As this is a one day event, the competition will have a limited number of competitors. When the maximum limit is reached, we will close the registration. We had to do this last year.

MIXED CLASSES

We aim to offer each athlete a chance to fight, so we might have to combine some classes if there are too few participants. The mixing of classes will primarily be based on the athlete's weight and secondarily their age.
