PARENTS:
Pre Tournament
Ask your coach if they feel your athlete is ready for the tournament, how they should register, etc.  Make sure to do your best to have the athlete make all of the classes and be as prepared as they can be (they probably can't drive themselves, afterall).

We have some great collaborations with local hotels.  Be sure to tell them you are with the tournament to receive special pricing.

During Tournament
As a parent it is natural to want the best for your child.  Lets make sure that the other athletes have a great experience as well.
We will not tolerate any belittling of other athletes, other spectators, or the referees.  This is a fun tournament meant to give the athletes loads of mat time and (positive) experience.

When you first walk into the facility, there will be a welcome desk where you can receive a ticket stub.  We will have some great draws and prizes to give away throughout the day.  And also some special front row seating that you could win!  You are encouraged to come early and stay to cheers on the other competitors.

There will be an adjacent Farmers Market which you will be given a voucher for to spend at any vendor you wish!

Post Tournament
What you say in the car ride home can make or break an athlete. We simply remind you to be mindful of the conversations you might have. Try positive reinforcement, creative questions, or maybe a different topic altogether.

Ask your coach if there are after tournament plans.  We have some amazing food establishments that would love to have you join them.  Other amenities include a pump track, skate park, outdoor splash park, bowling alley, or shopping downtown.  We have plenty of trail systems and outdoor parks with equipment.  While our new pool is currently under construction, we do have hotels with water slides that you could rent time for.

COACHES:
Coaching multiple athletes can get hectic.  Please make sure your athletes have a backup coach in case you are tied up on another mat.

The referees decisions are final.

As we have modified submissions for this tournament, please make sure you and your athletes are familiar with these rulesets.

We have some phenomenal restaurants in Drayton Valley.  Consider pre-booking an establishment for your after tournament group celebrations!  We are working on partnerships with the local eateries to ensure that they can accommodate all of our awesome out of town guests!
