Registration - IMPORTANT

Registration will look different for this tournament due to the team format and Smoothcomp's software update.

1. Each team chooses a team captain - this person will be in charge of creating the team on smoothcomp.

2. On March 11th, TEAM CAPTAINS  are responsible to log into smoothcomp, and register their team name. Watch the video linked above for support.

3. Team Captains will receive an email from WCWJ, which will notify them registration has opened for remaining teammates.  Note: this will be sent once 10 teams have registered.

If you cannot create a team it is because that division has reached capacity (10 for Novice Division, 10 for intermediate)

Teams can only register for 1 division- either Novice or Intermediate.

Tournament Format

1. Each team will be competing against another team as a "tri-tet".

2. This will be a round robin event.

3. There will be 2 divisions: Novice Gi and Intermediate Gi

4. Teams can only register for 1 division. Athletes can register on multiple teams as long as those teams are in different divisions. Ie) You cannot register on 2 novice teams. Belt requirements must be up held for both divisions.

5. Five minute rounds:

Submission = 3 points

Draw = 1 point per team

Loss = 0 points

The team with the most points at the end of the division will win. If an overall draw happens between teams, a sudden death match will occur. One 5 minute round will take place. Each team gets to decided on who will represent their team. The first 4 minutes of the match will be sub only and if no submission occurs by then, the last minute of the match becomes point based.

Team Requirements

1. Teams must have a total of 3 athletes. If you are having a hard time finding a team, or completing a team, please reach out and we can help you build some connections.

2. The maximum combined weight of the 3 athletes is 450 lbs (5-pound leniency). Weigh ins happen without the Gi.

3. Each division has belt requirements. Make sure to register accordingly.

Divisions

Novice Gi teams are teams made up of white/blue belts. 3 blue belts on a team will be considered intermediate.

Intermediate Gi Teams are made up of blue/purple/brown belts.

Blue Belts may register on two teams as long as those teams are in different divisions.

Purple/Brown belts may register for both the intermediate division and the Female Pro Card.
