AJF Australian Jujitsu Open Championship
The Australian Jujitsu Federation (AJF) is the National Sporting Organisation (NSO) for Jujitsu and related Martial Arts, recognised by the Australian Government through the Australian Sports Commission, also member of the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF). The JJIF is a member of GAISF – General Association of International Sport Federation and IWGA – International World Games Association and both organizations are in close cooperation with the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The organisation is striving to establish Sports Ju-Jitsu as an Olympic event in the future. The Australian Jujitsu Federation is hosting the 1st National Jujitsu Open Championship in Sydney, this event is open to everyone and all levels – we look forward in seeing you there!

Event
1st National Jujitsu Open Championship in Sydney, location at Boxingworks Gymnasium, 83-97 Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross NSW 2010 Australia.

Doors open at 8:00am
Weight-check from 8:00 – 9:00am
Event referees and officials briefing from 8:00 – 9:0 am
Entry Fee
Junior Male-Female, Men Fighting, Female Fighting and Contact Jujitsu (Head Contact Free) $60.00 AUD. Duo (Men couples, Female couples, Mix couples) $100.00 AUD.
Weigh-In
If weight is not met, we understand but note the draws will have to be redone causing delays for affected divisions, so please ensure you enter the weight division you feel you will most likely fall into. The official weigh-in dress must be a minimum of a non-transparent t-shirt and a short covering the knees.
Refund Policy
No refunds are available, this applies also to competitors who have opponents withdraw on the day leaving them in single category.
Merged Categories
An individual category shall only be held with a minimum of three participants present. Suppose less than three participants are present. In that case, the OC can merge the category with the following higher age and/or weight category. If the merging is impossible, the two athletes can compete against each other, as described in the rules (SC)
Dress Code
The competitors shall wear a good quality of two (2) Gi - white / Blue Ju-Jitsu Gi, for red position and blue position if possible, for this tournament. If not a white Ju-jitsu Gi, the athletes shall wear Red and Blue Belts depending on their position in the brackets.
Protective Equipment for Contact Jujitsu
All Contact Ju-Jitsu athletes must ensure their safety and protect themselves in all bouts by wearing JJIF approved Contact Ju-Jitsu protective gear as under:
JJIF Contact Gloves: In White and Blue Color as per Gi color (Open Palm Grappling Gloves of minimum 4 oz weight with elastic straps with NO bandaging wrapped on the hands.)
JJIF Shin and Instep protectors (Slip On Type) in Red or Blue as per Belt
Groin Guards (Jock Strap) Soft Cup Type (For MALE Competitors)
Mouth Guard (Gum Shields) to protect the teeth are not mandatory but are recommended
