UMAC London BJJ Championships Excel

General information:

UMAC Championship is being held on August 13th 2023 at the prestigious TRU Athlete 

International Sport & Fitness Festival Weekend in the ExCel, London 

Every Competitor fee includes free entry to the expo (worth £35) Competitors only!!

EXPO Spectators fee:

Adult £35

Child £17.50 

This will give access to the entire EXPO exhibitions

In between your matches you can watch other incredible events including strongman, bodybuilding, Kalos Sthenos, Titan Fitness Games, Masters Football, combat Sport zone, meet your heroes , visit the education zone or pick up some great freebies from contacts in the industry who will be representing there, For full event details please visit:

This event will be open to all belts from kids, juvenile, adults and masters levels.

We will have a fully qualified first-aider experienced in providing assistance to BJJ competitions and a top quality team of international level, IBJJF qualified referees.

Kids Gi Divisions:

- A 'round robin' format will be used for all categories with 3 participants, this is to ensure that all kids will have a minimum of 2 x fights. UKBJJA RULES for ALL KIDS.

Competition specific rule for Masters brown/black 

- Heel hooks are allowed.

Entry requirements:

In order to enter into the Absolute division you will first need to register for the respective Kids / Male or Female Gi division. 

During your application, please be sure to enter the correct weight, age and experience level. If incorrect details are entered this can cause us unnecessary delays on the day if we need to correct them and could result in disqualification.

* The weigh-in is to be done once only and whilst wearing your Gi.*

This event will be Submission only for all Adult , in case of time out and no submission, the commissioner will add another 1 minute to the clock and if still no submission happens the Referre will decide by WON BY DECISION. 

This is competition will be open to all National and international competitors,  all clubs are welcome.

Medals will be offered to 1st, 2nd and double 3rd place.

Absolute Kids:

White /Grey and Yellow under 38kgs 

Yellow & Orange from 38.10kgs to 52.0Kgs

Open weight on White / Blue / Purple / mix Brown and Black

Athletes are only required to weigh in once prior to competing. There is a 0 weight allowance at the scale. failing to make weight will be a straight DK, however if this happens, approach any of the organisers and they may be able to help you with different options. we are here to help!

08:30 - Weigh ins (will be 4x scales ready to go to avoid queues) 

9:30 - All competitors ready to fight / keep checking on smoothcomp for time changes 

Registration is open until 10/08/2023 (or when capacity is reached). Please read our Refund/ Credit Policy page for details on cancellations. A full refund will be given if you cancel before 15/07/2023.  After this date, MEDALS will be ordered so no refunds will be given. 

You can make changes to your registration via your Smoothcomp account until Friday, 11th Aug 2023 @ 8:00, Event organisers may make changes to your division but it is the athlete's responsibility to move divisions if they wish. Instructions on how to make changes are here https://support.smoothcomp.com/article/89-how-to-change-weightclass-or-cancel  We will email every competitor alone in the division to inform them about merging before we merge.

Team trophies will be given to the top four teams based on medal rankings  (1st, 2nd, 3th & 4th place) 

After Brackets are Published, no alterations will be made.

Make sure to get to the event at least 60 minutes prior to your bracket schedule. Athletes can be called 30 minutes before the estimated start of the division, a no show after 3 PA System calls will lead to immediate disqualification.

Please weigh in around 60 minutes before the start of your division and remain in the bullpen until called to your mat.

Keep refreshing Smoothcomp all the times. Times are dynamic and change in real time. Your match number and mat are subject to change by organisers to keep time on schedule. 

UMAC Etiquette:

At our competitions we strive to maintain the RESPECT RULE first and foremost.

We take a zero tolerance policy to inappropriate behavior by coaches, parents/guardians, spectators and competitors. Any spectators that we deem to be displaying inappropriate behavior (swearing, gesturing, violence) will firstly be given a verbal warning and if there is a second instance, they will be asked to leave.

We ask all attendees to our competitions to show a certain degree of restraint when supporting their students or team mates and show a decent level of courtesy to the opposing fighter, referees and staff.

Any participant (or supporter of a participant) whose behavior falls below the standards of good sportsmanship that we expect can, at the discretion of the referee/organizers be disqualified from the event or asked to leave. Significant infringements can lead to a banning from all future events.
