It is very important to register before the tournament and have a proof of membership on you during the check-in process. There will be an OJA registration table but we highly recommend to do this prior to the event to prevent tournament delays.

2. ALL adult divisions will be SINGLE-ELIMINATION. Kids divisions will stay DOUBLE-ELIMINATION.

RULES

Single-Elimination :

A single-elimination is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of each match-up is immediately eliminated from the tournament. Each winner will play another in the next round, until the final match-up, whose winner becomes the tournament champion.

Double-Elimination :

A double-elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament competition in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament’s championship upon having lost two games or matches. It stands in contrast to a single-elimination tournament, in which only one defeat results in elimination.

Tournament structure :

From now on, ALL adult divisions will be single-elimination and ALL Kids divisions will be double-elimination.

Submission Arts United competitors can compete in Gi and/or Nogi. Both formats operate in different rulesets.

Youth Gi divisions follow our SAU Allowable Techniques Chart :

Adult Gi divisions follow the rulesets and guidelines of the JJIF (similar to IBJJF) :

In case of different ranks competing against each other, we will adopt the rules of the lower belt rank.

Adult Nogi divisions follow our unique Submission Only ruleset
