Novice Interclub judo
We have made this event for you!
Are you turning 6 to 14 years old this year, with a junior White/Yellow belt or higher (not plain white belt)? Looking to improve your Judo and learn about competitive Judo? Want to meet up with players from other clubs in a fun, engaging, and learning environment with match‑ups as a Team? If yes, please register here for some Judo fun.
START: 9.30 am – 10.30 am (warm up & games)
TEAM MATCHES: 10.30 am – 11.30 am
PRESENTATION: 11.30 am to the Team with the most points
COST: $10 per player
NOTE: Judogi can be either blue or white for this event (see below for more information).
The standard definition of 'Novice' applies here. This event is for players who are new to or have little to moderate experience in competitive judo.
Format
Teams will be formed of approximately equivalent abilities and will compete against each other using the Under 12-year-old Rules (see link below). As this is a learning environment for competitive judo, the Referee will be generous regarding the Rules and provide instruction as needed. Team members are encouraged to assist their Team with positive words of assistance and encouragement.

The Referee will select compatible players, irrespective of gender, from each Team for the match, which will be 3 minutes continuous, and in case of no results, a 1 minute Golden Score round. If still no results, the Referee will award the match to the player showing the best attitude and positive judo.
Scoring rounds will consist of standard matches, osaekomi-waza (hold down) matches and Team games. One point is awarded to the player who wins their match and points to the Team depending on their place during the Team games. The winning Team is the one with the most points and its players will be invited onto the podium during presentation to receive the medals.
