Tournament rules and points:

Rules for all:

-No fish hook

-No guard Jumping where the body is launched into the opponents legs

-No Biting

-No Striking (Up to the ref to determine)

-Sportman like conduct is a must (Up to ref to determine)

Youth & adult white belt Rules:

-No leg locks of any kind

-No Spine locks

-No Slamming from inside guard

-No Scissor takedowns

Adult Blue to Purple:

-No Spine locks

-No Heel Hooks

Adult Brown & Black:

-No additional restrictions

Points: (all scoring points have to be help for 4 seconds)

Takedowns 2 points

-If two opponents are engaged and one ends up on top the other for any reason this is a takedown.

Sweep or Reversal 2 points.

-If the bottom opponent ends up on top it is a sweep or Reversal.

Guard pass 3 points.

-All body parts must be fully clear of the opponents guard.

Mount 4 points.

-this includes s mount

Back mount or back control 4 points.

-Back mount, back with both hooks and back with body triangle are all the same scoring position.

Knee on belly 2 points.

-one knee on belly area and other off the mat.

Advantages awarded for near submissions. Up to the ref.

Penalties for illegal techniques. Our goal is to not DQ anyone unless the ref thinks they are purposely breaking rules or unsportsmanlike conduct.
