Turtle Guard Tournaments Presents: Mat Monsters 3

This is a submission only, gi and no-gi tournament. There will be divisions for kids, and adults up to blue belt.  Youth divisions will be double elimination, and adult divisions will be single elimination!

So what can you expect from this event? Well let's go over the details, some of which are new changes from previous tournaments.

First off, this is a submission-only event. Which means during the match, there will be no point system in play, and the only way to win is via submission. If the timer runs out, and no one has been submitted, then the match goes into a 1 minute overtime, and the TGT point system comes into play, with the first person to score winning. If no one scores, then we will continue with 60 second sudden death rounds, until a winner is finally declared.

There will be both gi and no-gi divisions. Kids/Teens will be separated by age brackets, weight limits, and skill. There will be adult divisions for men, women, and masters men (40 yrs and older) for white belts and blue belts. There will be no divisions for purple and up. Your registration will allow you to compete in up to 2 divisions.

For kids/teens, this is a double elimination tournament! Which means, you have to lose twice in order to be eliminated from your division. So if you compete in 2 divisions, you will get a minimum of 4 matches!

There will be no absolute divisions at this event. I know many love the absolute divisions because it offers the chance to fight more matches, but that issue should be compensated with double elimination.

We are bringing back Fastest Submission of the Day!  But where in the past, we had one FSOTD for kids, and one for adults, we will now be giving out more. A TGT Hammer will be given to a winner in each kids age bracket in gi, and another set of winners in no-gi. The same will be done for adults. That's a total of 24 hammers throughout the day!

We are also going to be using the Smoothcomp system for our checkout, and for our match scheduling throughout the day. With the Smoothcomp system, every fighter will have an exact scheduled time showing when their next match is taking place. You will be able to see this schedule on your cell phone, along with the brackets and other competitors, and it will update as the day goes on!
