South West Jiu Jitsu Championship
The first ever "South West Jiu Jitsu Championship", Round Robin event both Gi and No-Gi, Kids 6+, Teens (all belts) Adults (White, Blue, Purple and Brown Belt divisions)
- Round Robin - Kids, Teens, Adults Divisions.
- Male / Female Divisions.
- Gi and No-Gi.
- IBJJF Rules.
- Kids 6 years and older - All Belts (age that calendar year)
- Teens All Belts.
- Adults White, Blue and Purple Belt divisions, Brown Belt Open Weight division
- Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each division.
- x 1 Junior "Fighter of the day" and x 1 "Sportsmanship Award" Trophies will be awarded after all Kids divisions have ended.
Points System
Competitors will be awarded points for each fight based on the below.
- Submission Win - 5 points.
- Win by points - 4 points.
- Win by Referee Decision ( When score is tied) - 2 points.
- Loss - 0 points.
The Competitor with the highest points tally per division will be awarded 1st Place, the second and third highest points scorer will be awarded 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
In the event of an overall points Draw, the winner will be decided by -
- Most number of Submissions, if this is tied then the fastest submission will win.
- Highest points tally, if this is tied then the largest individual winning margin.
- Sum of all Advantages.
- If still a Draw, then two medals will be awarded.
Weigh In
- Weigh in on arrival for all Competitors, minimum of 1 hour before first fight.
- Weigh ins will be in No-Gi attire only (covers Gi divisions), Competitors must be equal to or less than their entered weight division.
Divisions
Coaches/Parents will be contacted if divisions need to be mixed (Belts), or Kids put up into the next weight or age divisions.
Refunds will be given if Coaches/Parents decline the division changes from the original entered divisions.
Adult divisions - Competitors may be moved up in weight class depending on numbers, Masters divisions may be grouped, please review when brackets are released, if a move up in weight does not suit, then a refund can be requested.
Competition Rules
- All Competitors must have a mouth-guard.
- Finger and Toenails must be trimmed.
- All jewelry, piercings etc must be removed or covered up.
- Clean and well presented Gi with no mending or tears, must be dry and not emanate unpleasant odors.
- No rash guards under Gi attire - Male.
- Rash guards under Gi are mandatory for all Female competitors.
- No Groin Guards.
- Kids matches - Stoppages at the Referees discretion with safety above all else.
- No arguing with Referees, Spectators or Coaches.
- Good sportsmanship required at all times.
- x 1 Coach per team only allowed mat side (additional Coach allowed if multiple fighters are on different mats at the same time), spectators must be behind barricading.
- Footwear required on the Podium when receiving medals.
Spectator Fees
- Adults $10.
- Child $5.
- Family $20 (2 Adult 2 Kids) Additional costs as above.
- Kids under 5 are free.
- Black belts are free.
- 1 nominated Coach per club free, to sign in on entry.
- Additional coaches $10.
