Zander's Gi Jiu Jitsu Tournament

Short event introduction

Zander's Fight Promotions Gi Jiu Jitsu tournament

Open to ALL competitors.

This tournament will provide a great experience for all who attend. Parents, kids, and adult competitors alike.

This tournament is for our Gi competitors who wish to test themselves in a friendly competitive atmosphere. We have divisions for both kids and adults.

Please read this page in its entirety, as the rule set is changing to eliminate some confusion from the past regarding the rules.

Zander's Fight Promotions will be using a fairly unique scoring system that was developed to offer an opportunity for every style of grappler out there to showcase their skill. strongly encouraging submissions and gives points for dominant position.

With double elimination format where the first four minutes of each round being submission only, and the remaining 1 minute being for points, with a sudden death overtime if there is a tie at the end of the 5 minute match. Non-stop action and clear cut winners provide a great time for competitors and spectators alike.

Basic rules:

1: No unsportsmanlike conduct. You may be disqualified or even ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct. Referees decisions are final, and will not be overturned.

2: No striking, biting, eye gouging (includes chin to the eye), head butting, small joint manipulation (finger, or toe locks), hair pulling, grabbing of the windpipe, or ear pulling will be permitted.

5: Competitors will be permitted to grapple anywhere within the taped out ring. If they should (through the course of the match) roll outside the ring, it will be the referee's decision to re-position them back in the center of the ring or not. If the referee needs to re-position them, he/she will try to put them back to as close to the same position as possible.

6: No stalling, or running out of the ring.
