DAY 1 - Gi Brackets & Divisions

**The onus is on the Coaches and Athletes to know the Rulesets**
Please carefully read the rules for DAY ONE and for DAY TWO as they are different.


DAY ONE - GI ONLY:
Points Tournament with IBJJF Submissions with the development of the athlete in mind.  A good tournament experience can make or break an athlete from further competitions, or even from the sport.
We have aimed to be beginner friendly, while also allowing some freedom for the more experienced grapplers.

* We will do our best to place the closest 5 competitors based on rank and weight
* Weigh-ins will only need to be done once
* Please consider registering up a weight class if there is a chance the athlete will need weight allowance by the time the tournament takes place
* Please register based on age as of tournament date, not as of registration date

SCORING:

Takedown, Sweep, Knee on Belly

Pass Guard

Mount, Back Mount

RULESETS:
Micros - 4 and 5 year olds - 2 x 1 Minute Rounds (Top and Bottom) - Guard Game (no subs)
Chimps - 6 and 7 year olds - 3 Minutes - Start from Standing - IBJJF Ruleset
Peewee - 8 and 9 years - 3 Minutes - Start from Standing - IBJJF Ruleset
Juniors - 10-12 years - 4 Minutes - IBJJF Ruleset
Teens - 13-15 years - 4 Minutes - IBJJF Ruleset
Juvenile - 16 and 17 years - 5 Minutes - IBJJF Ruleset
Adults - 18+ and Masters Divisions - All Matches 5 Minutes* - IBJJF Ruleset
*Adult Male Absolute Matches Only - 6 Minutes Blue Belt, 7 Minutes Purple Belt
*Adult Female Absolute Open Weight - 6 Minutes

SUBMISSIONS:
Youth 4 - 12
Straight Armlocks, Gi Chokes (not Ezequiel), Triangle Chokes (not pulling the head), Rear Naked Chokes, Shoulder Locks (Kimura/Americana, no platas).  No trach chokes (ex papercutter or guillotine).  No head and arm chokes.

Youth 13 - 15
Addition of Submissions Stetching Legs Apart

Youth 16 & 17, Adult and Masters White Belts
Addition of Straight Foot Lock, Trach Chokes, Guillotines, Omoplatas, Arm Triangles, Triangles pulling the head.

Adult and Masters, Blue and Purple Belts
Addition of Body Compression Submissions, Wrist Locks.

TIE BREAKERS:
- No advantages will be given in matches.  In the event of a tie, first takedown (points) will determine the winner.
- Head to Head will decide standings in the event of a tie in points.
- In the Micro Division only, if there is a tie in the standings, a shortened match will determine the winner.

MEDALS:
- The Top 3 Winners in each bracket will receive a medal
- 1 Point for a Win, 0 Points for a Loss


TEEN SUPER FIGHTS:
- Athletes aged 13 - 17 can register for free (as a request) to be featured in a super fight.
- This does not guarantee a super fight match.  It simply shows that you are interested.
- Athletes must register in a regular division as well.
- These Super Fights will be 6 minutes long (or until a submission).
- IBJJF Rulesets will still apply.

JUVENILE COLORED BELT OPEN DIVISIONS:
- Male Athletes ages 16 - 17
- Female Athletes ages 15 - 17
- These matches will be early in the day (before regular divisions).
- Athletes must register in a regular division as well.
- Matches will be 5 minutes long (or until a submission).
- Division will be Random Draw, Single Elimination.
- IBJJF Rulesets will still apply.  
*Championship Belt on the line if the division has a minimum of 6 athletes competing.

ADULT SUPER FIGHTS:
- Blue Belt and Purple Belt Athletes can register for free (as a request) to be featured in a super fight.
- This does not guarantee a super fight match.  It simply shows that you are interested.
- Athletes must register in a regular division as well.
- These Super Fights may be in the Gi or NoGi (as agreed upon by both athletes) and 8 minutes long (or until a submission).
- Each Super Fight will have its own agreed upon Ruleset

ADULT ABSOLUTE DIVISION - Gi:
- For Blue Belt and Purple Belt divisions only*
- If there are at least 3 brackets within a belt rank, then the medalists of those brackets can choose to enter the Absolute Division
- Absolute Divisions will be 6 Minute Rounds for Blue Belts, and 7 Minute Rounds for Purple Belts
- This is an Open Weight division, with the top 3 medalists of each weight eligible to enter
- The Absolute Divisions will be Random Draw, Single Elimination
- Absolute Divisions will compete for one of our highly sought after Championship Belts!

*ANY FEMALE can enter the ABSOLUTE OPEN WEIGHT FEMALE Gi and No Gi Divisions.  There will not be a 3 bracket minimum requirement within a belt rank.  There will not be a medalist requirement.  Pre-Registration is required only.  Matches will be 6 Minutes in length and will follow the IBJJF Purple Belt ruleset in the Gi, and the Advanced Ruleset in the NoGi.  This bracket will still be Random Draw, Single Elimination.  Minimum of 6 Athletes registered for this bracket in order to compete for a Championship Belt.


**Any special requests, variations, alterations, refund requests, etc will be handled on a case-by-case basis**
++An athlete proven to be a black belt in judo, have experience in freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestling or to have fought MMA as a professional or amateur, shall not be allowed to enter any tournament as a white belt.  In the USA, to have competed at a college level or higher.  In other countries, to have competed in events of national scope.++
