We strongly suggest that athlete registration is completed and finalized before making any travel arrangements.

No close-outs or fake matches. If a match is deemed to be fake, athletes will be disqualified & forfeit prize. 

Any false information provided during registration such as, but not limited to, date of birth, may lead to immediate disqualification. Such actions are subject to suspension or even banishment from future events.

*Any athlete who is proven to be a black belt in judo, has fought MMA professionally, has an amateur MMA record or has proven experience in wrestling, Olympic wrestling or Greco-Roman wrestling, cannot participate in any True North Grappling Ltd. event as a white belt.

Division or weight changes, errors or additions can be made by accessing your SmoothComp account.  NO CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER REGISTRATION CLOSES.

COMPETITION DAY:

ARRIVAL TIME & WEIGH IN (NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCES)

It is the responsibility of the athlete to know the rules and guidelines pertaining to the sport as outlined in the IBJJF Rules Book.

Government-issued photo ID is mandatory for 16+ categories. Before each fight, athletes will be asked to show a valid photo ID to the officials; make sure you have it on hand.

Competitors must be at the venue ready to compete a minimum of one hour prior to the start time for their division in case the tournament is running earlier than expected. The division start time, posted in the event’s schedule, is only an estimated time. The division start time can vary throughout the event day due to several factors that are beyond our control.  SmoothComp live updates times and event progress regularly (browsers need to be refreshed).

 Official weigh-in will occur immediately before the first fight. Only 1 attempt to make weight is allowed. Athletes will be disqualified in their division if they weigh in heavier than the weight listed for the division they registered in. THERE ARE NO WEIGHT ALLOWANCES.

MEDALS:

Athletes who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their division will receive a medal at the event.

All the medals should be picked up at the event's podium. LEGEND GRAND PRIX does NOT mail out unclaimed or lost medals after the competition.

COACH REGISTRATION:

Each Academy with 10 or more registered competitors can have a MAXIMUM of 2 registered coaches. (Additional coaches are allowed mat side).  Less than 10 competitors will be allowed 1 coach per Academy. 

COACHES - Ensure your Academy is correctly registered in Smoothcomp including affiliation.  This will allow you to track your competitors and allow your students to register under the correct Academy name and affiliation.  This will also ensure competitors from the same Academy will not be placed against each other in the first round of draws.

Be respectful. Yelling at referees or staff will not be tolerated. If this occurs, you will be asked to leave. 

PARENTS:

Children ages 5-6 will be competing in positional sparring. NO SUBMISSIONS. Athlete A starts in guard and tries to wrestle to an advantageous position. Athlete B tries to hold position and deny athlete A from gaining position and points. If both athletes wrestle to their feet they will reset in position one.(one athlete can stand ant an time) Each athlete will get two minutes in both starting points. This rule set is designed to get them early experience with low chance of injury. Fostering an environment for competition and love of the sport without the overwhelming nature that submissions can cause. 

Parents you can also register an account with SmoothComp to manage and create profiles for more that 1 child during the registration process.

SPECTATORS:

$10/ person early bird, $12/person at the door. 

All spectators under the age of 5 are free.

*Brackets will be reorganized by weight, age, and belt level after sign up period closes for maximum compatibility and spirit of competition*

* Smooth comp can be tricky sometimes, If you have problems signing up please sign up in the closest bracket possible and leave a note with applicable info in the payment section and our staff will make the changes.
