JJFOA tournament is the first event of the year.  Held at the Union County Agricultural Center, 3230 Presson Rd. Monroe, NC 28112 this tournament will bring competitors in pursuit of JJFOA championship gold.  Test your technical skills and earn your place on the JJFOA podium. 

EVENT PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: 

Your health is our number one concern and we will be taking extra precautionary measures. Here are just a few of the additional measures we will be implementing: 

  1. All of our equipment will be sanitized.
  2. If you are a high risk individual, sick or have been recently exposed to someone that tested positive for any contagious respiratory or nasal illness then please stay at home.

JJIU-JITSU FEDERATIION OF AMERICA (JJFOA) is the new face of Jiu-Jitsu in America. On Saturday, August 13, 2022, JJFOA will be in Monroe, NC.  Children and Teens will compete first and then the Adult divisions will follow. Come as an individual or with a team to compete in this gi & nogi tournament.

3 REGISTRATION OPTIONS:

EARLY REGISTRATION:  REGISTER By FRIDAY, August 05, 2022, 5:00 PM EST.     

NORMAL REGISTRATION: REGISTER 08/06/22 THROUGH 08/10/22, 5:00 PM EST.

LATE REGISTRATION: THURSDAY (08/11/22)  OR FRIDAY (08/12/22)

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION 

1 Division = $99, Each additional division is $20, Spectators are $10 each. Children 5 and under are free. Spectator tickets can only be purchased at the door. 

NORMAL REGISTRATION 

We understand that you may not be able to commit to competing until the week of the event. This option is cheaper than registering at the event. 1 Division = $115, Each additional division is $20, Spectators are $10 each. Children 5 and under are free. Spectator tickets  can only be purchased at the door.

LATE REGISTRATION (THURSDAY )  

Competitors that register on Thursday 08/11 or Friday 8/12 :1 or 2 Divisions = $150.  Spectators are $10 each. Children 5 and under are free. Spectator tickets can only be purchased at the door. You must register for the tournament by 3:30 PM Friday evening,  REGISTRATION CLOSES ON FRIDAY AUGUST 12, 2022. NO REGISTRATION AT THE DOOR. For a limited time late registrar's can receive a $20 Discount at check out. Use Coupon Code JJFOA1. Only valid from 8-10-22 11:59pm to 8-12-22 3:30pm

Cash, Credit (Visa, MasterCard ) Debit, Stripe, are accepted forms of payment. AmEx and checks are not accepted. We do accept cash at the door for spectator fees.

FAMILY DISCOUNTS

JJFOA offers family discounts for immediate family members competing in the same event:

For 2 family members, the discount is $20

For 3 family members $40

For 4 family members $60

-Only valid for IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS (brothers, sisters, parents, children and spouses).

REFUND POLICY You can receive a full credit towards any future JJFOA event for any reason APONE CANCELLATION.  Competitors must cancel by 12:00 PM on Friday before the event by logging into your account and canceling your registration, this must be done yourself. This credit is valid up to 1 year from the date you cancel. Refunds are not given.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET TO THE EVENT  Upon arrival registered competitors will check-in at our front desk.  All Competitors will be required to weigh-in after the initial check-in. Competitors will be directed to Weigh-in area. Children and Teens are required to be weighed-in by 9:30 AM to compete that day. Competitors 18yrs and younger arriving late  will be removed from the tournament. Weigh-ins for adults is 1 hour before their projected start time and will be available Friday night before the tournament at event location. After competitors have weighed-in and picked up their free JJFOA T-shirt, all competitors will be interviewed by a A JJ black belt and or an experienced referee. The referee will assure competitors are in the correct skill level. Sand baggers will automatically be DQ'ed.  The size of your division(s) will be provided for you at this time. If competitor is the only one in the bracket, the head referee will decide the options available and reassign you to the agreed bracket.

FRIDAY WEIGH-IN TIMES  Competitors are given the option to check-in and weigh-in on Friday from 2:45 PM - 4:45 PM.  If you decide to check-in and weigh-in on the Friday evening before the tournament you do NOT have to do it again on Saturday upon arrival. Competitors are only required to weigh-in once. Weigh-in are without the gi at this time.

SATURDAY CHECK-IN AND WEIGH-IN TIMES  Doors open at 8:00am - CHILDREN & TEENS Competitors (17 yrs. & under) must complete check-in by 9:00 AM and weighed in by 9:30 AM. ADULT competitors are required to check-in one hour before their scheduled match time which will be available when the brackets are released on Friday evening. Competitors who arrive past these listed times will be removed and not allowed to compete. If a competitor misses these deadlines, a credit good for one year will be issued that can be used for any future JJFOA event, no exceptions. No refunds are given.

MULTIPLE DIVISIONS FOR CHILDREN & TEENS Children and teen competitors who desire to compete in an additional weight class or older age group can, at $20 per division. Competitors can have a total of 4 division when one additional weight class or age group is added. NO Competitor IS ALLOWED TO Do multiple skill levels. For example, a beginner 14 year old 105 pound competitor could not add the 90-99.9 weight class OR the 12-13 year old category (not both). They cannot add the intermediate skill level. They can do this for no-gi, gi, or both. It is $20 for each division added. If they wanted to go up in weight for no-gi and up in age for gi (or vice-versa) we can accommodate that request. If you would like to add an additional division (or two), email us [email protected] The following information is required in order to add the extra division(s): which tournament, the competitor’s name, up age or up weight, no-gi/gi/both, payment method (Stripe), and the email address. JJFOA will email you an invoice with a link to pay for the extra divisions. Once payment is made we will copy the competitor into the additional division(s).

COACH & PARENT CHAIRS JJFOA provides 2 chairs on each side of every score table, 1 for the coach of the competitor and the other for a family member or friend to shoot video or take photographs. Please note, no one else is allowed inside the barricades during the matches.

EVENT MEDIC All JJFOA events have a trained professional medic on sight. The medic will be visible and accessible to all in attendance. The medic is typically located between Rings 1 & 2.

ABSOLUTE DIVISIONS - Absolute divisions (no-gi and gi) are available for all adult competitors (ages 18 & above). These can be added for $25 when you are selecting your divisions when registering.

ABSOLUTE DIVISION ONLY - Competitors have the option to only compete in the purple to black absolute division. 

TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Trophies

JJFOA awards customized championship trophies to tournament team champions. A team award can be won in Adult Overall (No-Gi and Gi) and Children & Teens Overall (No-Gi and Gi). Please make sure your team registers under the same team name. If your team name does exist multiple times in Smoothcomp, please email us at [email protected] to consolidate into 1 correct team name.
