IMPORTANT NOTICE: NO REGISTRATION OR WEIGH-INS DAY OF TOURNAMENT!
This tournament is novice friendly, and the goal is to encourage first time or novice competitors to develop competition skills in a safe environment. Please contact the tournament director about any questions or accommodations.
REGISTRATION AND WEIGH IN:

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE DAY OF EVENT:
- Check in/weigh in time 9:00 AM- 10:30 AM
- Competitors who have not been to Scranton MMA will also need to sign a waiver
- Warm ups 10:30 AM - 10:55 AM
- Start Time 11:00am
RULES: Modified 2022 IJF rules (including recently announced 2022 rule changes), True Double Elimination, round robin for divisions of 4 or less. All Senior Divisions, chokes and armbars allowed.

Contestants will be awarded SMMA Points redeemable for prizes

- Win - 3 SMMA Points
- Loss - 1 SMMA Point
Kohaku
Based on Consecutive wins*
1 - 3 points
2 - 7 points
3 - 12 points
4 - 20 points
5 - 30 points
6 - 50 points
*If wins occur going down the line, point values will be halved
WEIGHT DIVISIONS
All weights are in kilograms. For each weight division, the weight range will be over the next lower weight and up to and including the weight listed.
JUNIOR Categories
- GIRLS by request: Junior divisions can be made if multiple competitors of similar age/weight agree to compete. This is a case by case basis
- BOYS by request: Junior divisions can be made if multiple competitors of similar age/weight agree to compete. This is a case by case basis
ADULT Categories
- Senior Brown-Black Belt Elite Female/Male are only eligible to compete in the Kohaku Shiai (Line tournament). All participants will be entered into a "winner stays up" format tournament
- Senior Novice Female (Brackets): Light, Medium, Heavy (based on registration turnout)
- Senior Novice Men (Brackets): -60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg +100kg or Light, Medium, Heavy (based on registration turnout)
- VETERAN/Masters MALE or FEMALE (35+): - BY REQUEST: Divisions can be made if multiple (2 or more) competitors agree to compete. This is a case by case basis
MATCH TIME
Juniors – 3 Minutes / 2 Minutes Golden Score
Adult Novice – 3 Minutes / No Golden Score Limit
Veterans – 3 Minutes / 2 Minute Golden Score
Kohaku - 3 Minutes/ 2 Minute Golden Score/ Hiki Wake
Judogi requirements: IJF judogi Requirements regarding sizing will be used at this tournament (within tolerances, and extra jackets will be available on site in case of issue). The jacket and pants must be the same color; no mixing of colors. Rash guards under the Judogi are permitted for all categories
Brown/Black belt competitors do not need 2 Judogis. In all matches where both competitors are wearing the same color gi, the “blue” competitor will remove their grade belt and wear a blue belt (Provided on-site) to identify the contestant’s designated color for the match.
