CANTERBURY BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP GI NO GI

Organized by Marcelo Lopes BJJNZ  
All competitors from all grappling disciplines and academies are welcomed to compete. This is a great opportunity for the entire family, to compete at the same event.

Competing teaches you important lessons that will make you a stronger version of yourself. And that is what BJJ is all about. Everyone may have a different goal that brought them to the sport, but BJJ has a way of bringing people together that possess the same desire for self-improvement.  

  Venue Cowles Stadium

    170 Pages Road, Aranui.

Prices:

- Kids/Juveniles $50 + $30 for extra division

- Adults $65 + $45 for extra division

Normal registration (Ends 26 October 2022 at 10pm)

SCHEDULE

Weigh in 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR FIGHT 

*If your child is scheduled to fight at 10am please let officials know so that they can be weighed in first.

*Weigh-ins will be open all day

10am: First Matches Start

1:00pm-ish: Kids matches FINISH

Adults matches START after the all kids matches have completed

*For safety reasons we will not begin the Adults divisions until ALL the kids fights are finished and the mats/bullpen areas are cleared.  

*The Kids finish times and adult start times are estimated and are a guideline only

Academy/Team Name: Competitors are responsible to ensure they have registered under the correct academy/team name. Once registration is completed this cannot be altered.  

Team Ranking: Teams will be ranked in the following order. First Consideration - Team points will be allocated based on Gold, Silver & Bronze placings. The Team with the most points overall will win the first place, Followed by the team with second highest overall points in second and the team with third highest points in third. Second consideration - In the event a team is tied on points, ranking between the tied teams will be determined by the better ranking going to the team with the most gold medals. If it is still tied then the team with the most silver medals will receive the better ranking. Then if it is still tied then the team with the most bronze medals will receive the better ranking  

IMPORTANT 

RULES SJJIF Ruleset

Please ensure you are close to the Matted area at least 30 minutes before you are scheduled to fight as disqualification can disappoint. 
NO spectators will be permitted in the bullpen area.

COACHING 

There are no coaches or parents permitted in the fighting area. For our children divisions we have a great team of Marshall's that help your child through the process. Please bring your child to the bull pen area, and if they are shy or upset request that one of our Marshall's come and escort them to their gym group.

BRACKETS/MERGING

If you are the only one in your registered division, you will need to be merged.

We will take all safety precautions when merging divisions, this will based on age, weight and belt.

If we cannot find a safe bracket to merge you in to, you will receive a coupon credit which can be used at any one of our Competitions.

Prize giving will be held for kids and adults once the divisions have finished.
