Tournament formats
Juijiteiro's is a modern tournament for both the modern day juijiteiro and submission grappler offering both ibjjf friendly Gi divisions and submission grappling Nogi divisions. We aim to give all athletes the experience and platform they deserve from a local event . With generous registration fees including FREE open weight divisions we are also giving FREE registrations for all black belts. If that's not enough we will also try and entice competitors with major prizes
Tournament structure - All weight divisions will all now be single elimination
3 competitors in a division will be round robin
2 competitors in a division will be best of 3
Double bronze for all semi finalists

Gi - follows IBJJF weight and techniques permissible
Nogi - Modified divisions and techniques but with IBJJF weigh divisions
Kids and Juvenile Gi & Nogi - follows all IBJJF rules for techniques and weight divisions
Match formats -
Gi - IBJJF point structure
Nogi - first half of match sub only second half IBJJF point structure without advantages (adults only)
Match times - kids 3 minutes , juvenile 4 minutes , adult and master 5 minutes
Open weight division- all open weight divisions are free to enter but you must qualify 1st,2nd,3rd for the nogi opens
Weigh in
There will be one single weigh in from when you first enter the venue. You will only need to weigh in the once if you do both Gi and Nogi divisions . Weigh ins will be in Nogi attire only . There is no weight allowance for both Gi and Nogi divisions . Competitor's only have the one chance to make weight , if not they will be automatically DQ'ed and wont be able to move division's thereafter.

Qualifies for both divisions
Technique's permissible
Kids and juveniles Gi & Nogi - all per IBJJF permissible
Adult GI - all per IBJJF permissible
Adult Nogi -
Beginner - all IBJJF techniques permissible up to white belt
Intermediate - all IBJJF technique's permissible up to purple belt including knee bar
Pro - all IBJJF technique's permissible up to black belt including all leg attacks (heel hooks, toe hold etc)
Reaping- only permissible in pro divisions

Experience level's for Nogi /submission grappling -
Beginner – 0-2 Years (no coloured rank in jiu jitsu, judo or sambo. No prior wrestling competition experience)
Intermediate – 2-4 Years ( no brown, black belts in jiu jitsu, judo and sambo)
Pro – Over 4 Years (open to all experience and styles)

Check day / last chance to cancel or change divisions - Wednesday 7th December
Single competitor divisions - we will do our best to accommodate everyone as best we can either by merging competitors with similar weight's, age or skill levels. To help us best accommodate you in the case of single fighter divisions you have the ability to put in a note for us on your registration . Just jot down your preference and we will do our best. An example would be "willing to go down in age , not really keen on going up in weight"
Brackets and schedule
Door's open at 09:00 am and the tournament start's promptly at 09:30 am.
Competitors are required to be present 60 minutes before their match start time.
Bracket's and the event schedule will be posted on the Friday prior to the event.
You can access these by visiting the Brackets & Schedule tab.
A real-time schedule by bracket and real-time schedule by match order will be featured on large TV monitors at the event allowing you access to the most up-to-date information available. You can also keep up to date on your mobile device on the smoothcomp account
During the event, you will be able to access this information from your mobile device.
Competitors must be in Fighter Bullpen 15 minutes prior to your match time.
Please be one time to your designated mat to keep the tournament running on time.

To compete for OUTSTANDING ATHLETE it’s best to do as many division's as possible to rake in the maximum number of points . Extra point's are also added for the number of submissions

Official uniform policies
White, blue or black GI's only
rash guard under GI optional
NOGI divisions - any bjj rash guard permitted , doesn't have to be ranked
Shorts must be original fight shorts no board shorts or sport shorts
Spats permitted
