PNO 2023

1.    Ruleset:

• The PNO Jiu-Jitsu Championship will be held in an IBJJF Ruleset with IBJJF Weight classes for all divisions except kids (please read kid section below)
• Gi and Nogi
• Double Elimination for kids
• Double Elimination for Juvenile
• Single Elimination for all other divisions
• Nogi Purple Belt and above will use IBJJF Black Belt Rules
• Absolute divisions for Blue Belt and up medalists in both gi and nogi (register at the head table after you have completed your weight class)

2.   Registration:

• Registration opens on September 16th, 2023
• Price for one division:

1.      Early Bird - $80 from September 16, 2023 to October 1st, 2023
2.      Normal Registration - $95 from October 2nd, 2023 to October 29th, 2023
3.      Late Registration - $120 from October 30th to November 11th, 2023

• Second division is $30. Discount will be reflected at the end at checkout provided you have selected a second division.
• Registration deadline is November 11th at 11:59pm.

3.  Division Changes or Cancellation:

• Log into your smoothcomp account if you need to change your division or cancel your registration.
• As long as registration remains open you can cancel your registration via your smoothcomp account. Please see our Cancellation policy tab if you need to cancel.
• If you are alone in your bracket, we will refund you or credit you to a future event. Please contact us AFTER the event letting us know which option you prefer. We will do our best to find you a suitable match up the day after registration closes. If by this point we still do not have a match for you only then should you assume you have no opponent. 
• You are responsible for ensuring you are in the correct division BEFORE the tournament. Make sure to check your weight, your weight class, and division to ensure you are placed correctly. Changes will not be made at the tournament. 

4.   Kids Divisions:

• Open to ages 4 and up, all belt and skill levels.
• Age Classes:  are determined by year born, not age at the event. Age classes are in sets of 2 years. For example: 4 & 5, 6 & 7, 8 & 9 etc)
• Weight classes: In an effort to create more matches for kids we will be doing custom weight classes which you can view when you go to sign up. Most divisions are 10 lbs apart except for the young kids (ages 4 & 5) and up to 15 lbs for the older larger children.

5.  Coaching Credentials:

• Coaches do not need to pay the spectating admission fee and will receive a wrist band upon entry to the venue
• Email us to get on the list via [email protected] stating your name and academy.
• Deadline is November 11th, 2023 

6.  Spectators: 

• $10 onsite, cash only. Kids under 12 years old have free entry. Athletes have free entry. Any athlete competing in kids divisions can bring a parent with free access to the event.

7.  Weigh-ins:

• are held the same day of the event.
• Weigh ins for gi are done with the full gi and belt on.
• Kids are allowed a 2 pound allowance. Adults, Juveniles, and Masters must make weight or will be disqualified.
• If you are competing in gi and no gi you need to register for the same weight class for both. You only weigh in one time and that is for your gi event. If you are only competing in no gi you will weigh-in in your no gi attire.

What time do I compete?: 

• Tournament begins at 9am
• Please check your estimated start time via smoothcomp bracket tab. Please note that this an ESTIMATE and we will be trying to find you BEFORE your time so make sure you are checking your times regularly. If we can not find you, you will be disqualified so be sure to be in the athlete area if your match is soon and keep an ear open.
• we recommend coming ATLEAST 90 minutes early. If we are ahead of schedule your matches may be sooner then expected.
