The Kuzushi Kumite (Gi): 

Male, female, kids and masters Gi tournament following the IBJJF weight classes, rules and guidelines.

The Kuzushi Kumite (NoGi): 

Male, female, kids and masters NoGi tournament following ADCC ruleset.

NoGi RULES FOR BEGINNERS DIVISION:

• ADCC ruleset minus Heel Hooks for beginners. 

• Straight knee bars, straight ankle locks, knee reaping for straight ankle locks, Toe Hold and entanglements are allowed. 

• Body Slamming is allowed when applying a takedown but not when locked in a submission.

• Shirts/Rash guards are not necessary.
• KIDS (5-14): No knee bars, heel hooks, toe hold, knee reaping or body slams of any kind.
• JUVENILE (15-17): No knee bars, no toe hold and no heel hooks.

SPECIAL NoGi RULES FOR INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED: 

• ADCC ruleset for Intermediate/Advanced levels. https://adcombat.com/adcc-rules-regulations/

• Shirts/Rash guards are not necessary.

• Body Slamming is allowed if you are locked in a submission or applying a takedown. If your opponent lets go of the submission while you are about to slam you must let go of the slam.

KUMITE PRICES:

The Kuzushi 2024 Champions Trophy: 

We are very pleased to introduce a new competitive format to the  Singapore grappling scene; Competitors will be separated in 2 weight classes only: -76.4kg and +76.5kg. 

Competitors face each other in a single elimination style tournament, the winner of each tournament will be signed up for free for the next phase of the competition. Points will be awarded accordingly between the 10 best competitors of each division and carried on to the next phase.

At the 4th and final tournament at the end of 2024, there will be only one remaining competitor who will be crowned the winner of The Kuzushi Champions Trophy 2024!

Divisions for The Kuzushi Champions Trophy will be:

• White belts -76.4 and +76.5 

• Blue & Purple belts -76.4 and +76.5.

• NoGi Beginners* and Intermediate* -76.4 and +76.5 

• Advanced* & Pro* -76.4 and +76.5.
• *NoGi divisions: Beginner = white belt, Intermediate = blue belt, Advanced and Pro = brown and black belts. This is for reference only, if any lower rank athlete wishes to compete on a more advanced division the athlete is free to do so.

BRACKETS and SCHEDULE: Brackets will be released on April 8th along with the full schedule of both competitions.

SPECTATOR FEES:

In order to help support the event and for us to sustainably provide the most premium experience we can, all spectators over the age of 8 years old must have a spectator wrist band. Wrist bands may be purchased at the door upon entry of the venue.

• Spectator fee: $5.00.

Each academy may designate up to 2 coaches who receive spectator wrist bands at no cost.  The academy must have competitors registered for this particular event and the wrist bands must be approved by the event director.

Spectator wristbands entitles you to a $3.00 discount for your first regular sized Açaí bowl purchase.
