UMAC Milton Keynes BJJ Open
Ultimate Martial Arts Championships invites you to join us for the UMAC Milton Keynes BJJ Open 2022 competition. The competition is taking place at the Oakgrove Sports Hall in Milton Keynes on Saturday 17th September 2022 and is open to all BJJ belt levels in adult, juvenile and kids divisions.

Entry fees:
Adult:
£45 entry until 8th September
£55 late entry fee up to 14th September
Kids and juvenile:
£30 entry up to 14th September - NO LATE ENTRY FEE!
Spectator fees:
£5 entry for all adult spectators to be paid on the day (cash only)
Children under 16 spectate for free
The Head Coach of each Academy spectate for free (submit your details to us via email prior to the event)
General information:
This event will be open to all belts from kids, juvenile, adults and masters levels.
The competition will be held in Oakgrove school sports hall which is a modern, large venue with changing rooms, shower facilities and spacious on-site parking.
The times and schedules will be updated in real time and displayed on a large screen and accessible to the general public on smart devices through the SmoothComp platform.
We will have a fully qualified first-aider experienced in providing assistance to BJJ competitions and a top quality team of international level, IBJJF qualified referees.
Bespoke medals will be issued to the top 3 competitors in each category.
Divisions:
Kids Gi/No Gi Divisions:
4-7 years - No submissions and 2 minute rounds
8-12 years - Submissions allowed, 3 minute rounds and IBJJF RULES
Juvenile Gi/No Gi Division:
13-17 years - Submissions allowed, 4 minute rounds and IBJJF RULES
Absolute Gi/No Gi divisions:
Adults division (18+) - 5 minute rounds and IBJJF RULES
Masters division (30+) - 5 minute rounds and IBJJF RULES
Kids format:
- A 'round robin' format will be used for all categories with 3 participants, this is to ensure that all kids will have a minimum of 2 x fights.
Competition specific rule for Masters brown/black no Gi:
- Heel hooks are allowed.
Entry requirements:
In order to enter into the Absolute division you will first need to register for the respective Male or Female Gi/No Gi division.
*The prize funds advertised are only for the Gi divisions - conditions apply*
During your application, please be sure to enter the correct weight, age and experience level. If incorrect details are entered this can cause us unnecessary delays on the day if we need to correct them and could result in disqualification.
Changing divisions/amendments:
Any amendments to your original application, including changes to your registered division need to be either updated on your Smoothcomp registration or emailed to us by the the 14th September. Failure to do so by this date will require us to charge an administration fee of £20 as the brackets and divisions will be set up on the 14th.
Merging divisions:
We reserve the right to merge divisions after the registration deadline in the unlikely event that you are the only competitor in your registered division group.
Weighing in:
Weighing in takes place on the day of the competition starting from 10am and must be completed at the latest 1 hour before your scheduled division start time. You must have officially weighed in by this hour before your division time and have made the weight, or else you will be disqualified and removed from the bracket.
* The weigh-in is to be done once only and whilst wearing your Gi.*
Fight scheduling:
The schedule will be updated throughout the day and it is likely that fight times will move as the day progresses, with this in mind, we ask all competitors to please make sure they keep track of fight times via Smoothcomp. We will always attempt to make an announcement calling for any fighter that is not present before the start of their fight, but this is not guaranteed and if you are not present when you are due to fight you will be disqualified.
UMAC Etiquette:
At our competitions we strive to maintain the RESPECT RULE first and foremost.
We take a zero tolerance policy to inappropriate behaviour by coaches, parents/guardians, spectators and competitors. Anyone spectators that we deem to be displaying inappropriate behaviour (swearing, gesturing, violence) will firstly be given a verbal warning and if there is a second instance, they will be asked to leave.
We ask all attendees to our competitions to show a certain degree of restraint when supporting their students or team mates and show a decent level of courtesy to the opposing fighter, referees and staff.
Any participant (or supporter of a participant) whose behaviour falls below the standards of good sportsmanship that we expect can, at the discretion of the referee/organisers be disqualified from the event or asked to leave. Significant infringements can lead to a banning from all future events.
Refund policy:
We will issue a full refund until the start of the late entry date (08/09/22). After this date until the end of the late entry date (14/09/22) only a full coupon credit will be issued for future events. After this date there will be no refunds or future credits issued. Competitors whose opponents do not show up on event day will receive a full coupon credit.
