Lakeside offers old school Carlson Gracie Brazilian jiu-jitsu instruction in East Lakeview, Chicago. We focus on time tested, self defense effective techniques that build strength, cardiovascular endurance, and jiu-jitsu acumen to provide a complete fitness experience. With a full stable of black belt instructors in the Carlson Gracie lineage, Lakeside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu offers both gi and no gi instruction for students spanning a wide degree of involvement, including hobbiests, seasoned competitors, and everything in between. Additionally, our team focuses on students as individuals, developing the characteristics of their jiu-jitsu that will best serve them in their sparring, competition, or self defense setting. This individual approach, regardless of style or lineage, is instrumental in helping every student fully embody their jiu-jitsu practice. Lakeside Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was initially founded in 2011 as Copa Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We became Lakeside Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2023, and dedicate ourselves to carry forward the legacy of Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in Lakeview.
