Freestyle WRestling RULES

Freestyle allows holds of the upper and lower body.

The competition will be conducted in accordance with United World Wrestling rules (https://unitedworldwrestling.org/)

Objective: The goal of freestyle wrestling is to pin your opponent's shoulders to the mat or score more points than your opponent.

Scoring points: 

Takedown: If you bring your opponent down from a standing position to the mat, you get 2-5 points.

Exposure: If you can expose your opponent's back to the mat, you can earn 2 points.

Reversal: If you escape from your opponent's control and gain control over them, you earn 1 point.

Pinning: If you manage to put your opponent's shoulders flat on the mat and hold them there you win the match immediately.

Winning: You can win the match by either pinning your opponent, having more points than your opponent when the time runs out or by having a 10 point lead over your opponent.

GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING RULES

Unlike Freestyle Wrestling, Greco-Roman does not allows holds below the waist

Objective: The goal of freestyle wrestling is to pin your opponent's shoulders to the mat or score more points than your opponent.

Scoring points: 

Takedown: If you bring your opponent down from a standing position to the mat, you get 2-5 points.

Exposure: If you can expose your opponent's back to the mat, you can earn 2 points.

Reversal: If you escape from your opponent's control and gain control over them, you earn 1 point.

Pinning: If you manage to put your opponent's shoulders flat on the mat and hold them there you win the match immediately.

Winning: You can win the match by either pinning your opponent, having more points than your opponent when the time runs out or by having a 8 point lead over your opponent.

Takedown ONLY Tournament

The Takedown Tournament eliminates ground wrestling and allows upper and lower body holds

Objective: The first person to 3 points wins

Scoring points: 

Takedown: If you bring your opponent down from a standing position to the mat, you get 1 - 3 points.

Taking your opponent from standing to the ground is 1 point (A takedown is considered anything other than the sole of the hands or feet touching the ground.)

Taking your opponent from feet to back is 3 points and ends the match

Pushout:  Pushing your opponent out of the circle is 1 point
