Time Limits

• All white belt matches will be 4 minutes.

• All adult blue, purple, brown, and black belt matches will be 6 minutes.
• Non white belt masters and executives divisions will be 5 minutes.

Scoring

Scoring will be based off the IBJJF scoring system with one exception:

• No advantages will be awarded for submission attempts.  Instead a competitor will be awarded 3 points. These points will ONLY be awarded if the referee feels the competitor is in REAL danger of being submitted.

Rules

All matches will follow the rules set by the IBJJF with the following exceptions:

• Stalling or Lute will be called after 10 seconds of a lack of combativeness as opposed to 20 seconds.

• In the event of a double guard pull, the competitor that comes on top and maintains for 3 seconds will be awarded 2 points.  

No Gi Divisions

• Beginner Division: Ibjjf Adult White Belt No Gi Rules. White belts only.
• Intermediate Division:  Ibjjf Adult Purple Belt No Gi Rules. White, Blue, and Purple may enter. Lowest division allowed for Blue and Purple belts.
• Advanced Division: Ibjjf Adult Black Belt No Gi Rules. Anyone can enter. Mandatory for Brown and Black belts.

Uniform

• GI: The length, size, and patch placement of gis will be based off the criteria given by the IBJJF.
• No Gi: Bottoms that are allowed are board shorts, vale tudo shorts, or spats. Tops allowed are rash guards (rank not required) or tight fitting tshirts.  Males may go shirtless.

**Note: All competitors are urged to bring a back-up gi in the event that their gi rips during the match.
