Here at Behring Jiu Jitsu New York, we strive to create a friendly and safe environment, where people of all backgrounds can come together to train, to learn and to grow. We attract students who are humble and kind and who show respect for the class, the art and for each other. Bullies and show-offs soon find our school is not for them. This is because we prefer to maintain an atmosphere rather, than an egosphere. We are more than just teammates and training partners, we are family on and off the mate. Jiu Jitsu has something in it for everyone. Some study it for self-defense while others are looking for a fun way to get in shape. We also have students who are in it for the sport aspect. There are several among our team who actively compete and have won many championships. While we do encourage our students to participate in tournaments, we certainly do not require it. Our main objective is to enrich the lives of many through the mastery of the art. Behring Jiu Jitsu New York is owned and operated by Flavio Behring Black belt Curtis Mosely. Coach Curtis has been training under GM Behring for over 10 years. He has won numerous championships and has coached many students to championship status. He is known for his sharp attention to detail and his calm easy way of teaching. He is Army Combatives Master Trainer and Gracie Defense system certified.
