CCMA's Kids No-Gi Jiu Jitsu Competition 2
Complete Control Martial Arts is excited to announce its second Inter-Club Kids Competition.
The event will follow a similar structure to that of its predecessor - prioritising both the quantity and quality of competition experience for junior competitors, sourcing appropriate matches based on the age, weight and skill level of competitors independent of any pre-defined divisions or brackets.
Registation
Registrations will close on Friday August 30th at 11:59pm. The matchups and associated schedule for the event will be posted early in the week of the competition.
PLEASE NOTE - while we would love to see as many kids competing as possible, the nature of the matchmaking process for this competition means that there will not be any capacity for registrations after the deadline.
Rules
All matches will be contested under the Grappling Industries ruleset - http://grapplingindustries.com/rules/
These rules will be implemented at the discretion of referees with previous experience officiating Kids No-Gi Jiu Jitsu. Their judgement within a match will be considered final and there will be no review process with or without video footage.
Please Note - Athlete safety is the number one priority of officials and, as such, they will have the ability to call a submission on an athletes behalf if they consider the situation to be one which may lead too injury (e.g. fully extended arm bar, figure four control with hand behind back, etc).
Matchups
As stated above, a feature of this competition is the providing of as many relevant matchups as can be reasonably provided for all competitors. While subject to change pending registrations, the goal is to provide children with 6 matchups with peers based on:
- Age
- Weight
- Competency
All matchups will be made with competitive fairness and child safety as the primary consideration. This is a development opportunity and, as such, having children receive matches appropriate to their perceived skill level, including instances of up or down scaling, is necessary for ensuring each participant gets the most out of this competition. This is not a perfect process, and is one we are continually refining to provide the best development opportunity we can moving forward.
Medals
All competitors will receive a medal when they have completed each of their scheduled matches. These medals are participation based, and are not indicative of placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc).
