Sarasota BJJ Open

The Anti-Bullying Jiu-Jitsu Alliance's mission is to bring out the best from all BJJ schools in our region in order to foment the sport and stimulate new practitioners in our local communities. Professional BJJ instructors are working together for the betterment of our sport and personal growth of our students while showcasing their skills right here for all Gulf Coast fans of Martial Arts.

Welcome to the most prestigious BJJ tournament in the area. The Sarasota BJJ Open by the ABJJA is quickly growing into a significant Gi and No-Gi multi-location event in nearby gymnasiums. After ten years of events organized by Sarasota's earliest BJJ Black Belts, for the benefit of keeping the BJJ community up to date, we are now incorporating both larger and smaller events. The Sarasota BJJ Open tournament is committed to supporting well-run, family-friendly events that will promote BJJ in our community and help local students perform at a high level in competitions.

Spectator fee: $5 - Each spectator will be given a raffle ticket. We will raffle off t-shirts and Gis in the hopes that competitors' friends and family may be inspired to attend BJJ lessons at a BJJ school near them.

- Take advantage of competing twice for the cost of one entry fee if you sign up for both Gi and No-Gi.
- Tournament starts at 10 AM. Please arrive around 9:30 AM. Younger kids go first!

- Everyone has a guaranteed division even if you don't see brackets published the night before. Brackets will be published at the event;

- Gi & No-Gi. All Kids belts & Adults White, Blue, Purple and Brown belts;

- Single elimination: 2 matches minimum guaranteed if you compete in Gi and No-Gi (Both for the same price);

- IBJJF rules;

- Brand New Custom Medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place;

- We will match the kids to the best of our ability to always allow safe and fair matches just like they spar kids of similar sizes and ages at their Dojos and other tournaments in Florida. One weight division up or down, one year division up or down and one belt color up or down is the normal distance we will go. Adults may be paired in groups of similar belts and weight, if necessary.
