Kosen Shoshinkan Tournament 2022

For its second year running, Shoshinkan Martial Arts is the exclusive host of Kosen National tournament inviting members from 5 major Judo and Jiu-Jitsu US Associations (USJA, USJF, & USA Judo, American Judo & Jujitsu Federation (AJJF) and American Traditional Jujutsu Association-Judo Division (ATJA)

The tournament is held in Fabulous Las Vegas and sanctioned By the United States Judo Association (USJA).

TOURNAMENT

MATCH TIMES, AGE & RANKS EXCLUSIONS

Juniors (5 to 6 Years Old):       2 Minutes

• • No shime-waza (strangles) - under 7 Years Old

Juniors (7 to 12 Years Old):     3 Minutes

•   • No kansetsu-waza (arm locks) - under 13 Years Old

Juvenile (13-16 Years Old):       3 Minutes

Senior Novice:                      4 Minutes (17 Years & Up)

Senior Brown/Black Belt        4 Minutes (17 Years & Up):

All Masters                           4 Minutes (30 years and older)

Masters Novice may be grouped with Senior Novice due to the limited number of competitors

Kosen Rules

As defined by current USJA Contest Rules

This event aims to promote Judo in a holistic approach, allowing for throwing techniques (Nage waza) and ground techniques (Ne-waza) to generate equal points and increase the tactics required to win.

Golden Score

Limited Golden Score of 2 minutes, except for Athletes 17 an over

JUDO GI IS MANDATORY, NO JU-JITSU GIS ALLOWED

BRING YOUR OWN BLUE AND WHITE BELTS

Weigh-in must be validated no later than 6 pm day prior the event
