AWARDS:

Everyone fights everyone!

This tournament will be set up in a round robin bracket so that athletes are guaranteed multiple fights based on the size of their division.

Medals will be awarded to the 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place of each division.

In the event of an athlete not having anyone else registered in their age or weight divisions we will combine divisions with the approval and consent of all fighters and every fighter competing outside of their weight class will be offered a gold medal by default. Fighters competing in a separate division due to age will not be offered a gold medal for competing; they will earn a medal based on placement.

Cash bonus - Submission of the night:

Two submission techniques common to BJJ will be shared on social media and in person at the event that, if performed during a match to force an opponent to tap out verbally or physically, will result in the fighter who performed the technique receiving $25 and a “Submission of the Night” certificate. The fighter does not have to win their respective division to receive the submission of the night award; the fighter only needs to win a match by way of either approved technique. Since names are commonly changed in the sport, examples of these techniques will be on display on our social media and on a large screen at the event. The techniques are commonly referred to under the following names:

1. BOW AND ARROW CHOKE

2. ARMBAR FROM THE BACK

The referee for your individual match will have all say in whether or not your techniques performed are eligible for a submission of the night bonus. Their decision is final.
Athletes can perform these techniques to earn the submission of the night bonus in gi or nogi divisions.
An athlete may only win one submission of the night bonus.
Athletes are not encouraged to attempt techniques they are not familiar with and are encouraged to compete with their own safety in mind.

WEIGH-INS:

ALL WEIGH-INS BEGIN AT 4 PM.

Athletes will be able to weigh in beginning at 4 PM while the event is being set up. All athletes should be weighed in by 5 PM when competition starts.

There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight, they will be immediately disqualified. A 1-pound weight allowance will be in place. See more details below.

Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can change divisions up until the March 24th deadline. No changes will be accepted in the tournament day, no refunds will be given to fighters who do not make weight.

Example: -107.0 lbs (Rooster) means athletes must weigh 107.0 lbs with a maximum of 108.0 lbs. Any weight over 108 lbs will result in disqualification.
Athletes competing with the gi will weigh themselves with the gi on and athletes competing in nogi will weigh-in without a gi. Competitors registered to both gi and nogi will check their weight with the gi on.
