Katharo In-House Tournament

An in-house tournament for our students that follows a round robin format. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner that is curious or more experienced and preparing for an upcoming tournament. This will be a fun and friendly practice tournament for you to experience with your teammates.

Location, Date & Times

Katharo Training Center on April 16, 2022  

CHeck in will be from 8:15-8:45AM. if you are not checked in then you will be removed from the bracket.

Kids and Adults Gi @ 9AM 

Kids and Adults NoGi @ 1030AM

Please show up early for check-in, warm up rolls and announcements so that we can start promptly at 9AM.

Most of your questions will be answered on this page.

Dates, times and the event are subject to change. Event is still a work in progress. Make sure to check back here for any changes the week before the event and several days leading up to the event. Start Times are the most subject to change and all changes will be at the top of this page.

Gi and NoGi divisions are available.

Refunds will not be issued the day of the event for illegitimate reasons especially if you commited to making a bracket complete.

rules

Rules will follow Traditional BJJ Format for scoring and allowed techniques.

All scorable positions and actions must be held and controlled for a minimum of 3 seconds in order to score.

Takedown / Sweep / Knee On Belly 2

Tiebreakers will be determined by a 60 second round of Golden Score/Sub. First competitor to score points or sub will be declared the winner.

REgistration And BRACKETS & SCHEDULE

The "Registration" tab contains a live competitor list that automatically updates as they register.

The registration will close 48hrs before the event and the early bird registration phase will end 1 week before the event.

Brackets and event schedule will be posted the day before the event.

You can access the “Brackets & Schedule” tab on your mobile device or computer to view bracket information details like the match orders and times for each mat.

Bracket Matchmaking

The tournament will follow a Round Robin format for bracket matchmaking.

This ensures that every competitor will compete against every competitor in their division regardless of wins/losses.

We will do our best to keep things fair and fun but some ages/weights/ranks may need to be combined in order to create brackets. The goal is to get everyone as many matches as possible in a safe and fun manner.

Weigh-ins & check-in

Weigh-Ins will be conducted following The Honor System. 

There is a scale located in the back of Katharo in the Fitness Center

Please double check your weight and register accordingly.

Check-In will start 30mins prior to start time. Please show up at least 15 minutes prior to start time for check-in to ensure a prompt start.  

Awards

Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place competitors for every division.

Each division registered enters for a chance to win free registration to the one of the next local tournament such as Grappling Industries, Fight2Win, and NAGA.  Maximum number of raffle entries is two(2).

1 winner will be selected per event.
