A. Kolychkine Judo Foundation and Florida State Judo Yudanshakai are proud to announce the 1st A. Kolychkine Memorial Judo Tournament, this first championship will be held only with Ne Waza techniques and for children. It will take place on Sunday, April 21 at our Foundation’s dojo, located at 9664 Sunset Drive, Miami, FL.
It is the mission of A. Kolychkine Judo Foundation Inc. to continue Sensei André Kolychkine’s noble and historic legacy of proudly teaching our children and adults regardless of their age or gender, the wholesome and nuanced principles of Judo as an Olympic sport, a means of self-defense, and a way of life while fostering the attributes of discipline, respect, rectitude, courage, loyalty and honor. All benefiting and enriching the present and future of all students.
The competition will group the judokas by age categories and weight divisions to ensure equal opportunities for all participants. By participating in this event, children will not only learn Judo but also develop basic motor skills and physical conditioning abilities.
PARTICIPANTS: Judokas with active registration with one of the following National Judo organizations: USJF, USA Judo, or USJA will qualify for the competition’s weight divisions and categories.
Each competitor must attach to the registration a photocopy of the affiliation card of their respective national organization.
WEIGH-IN: Each club, school, or sensei, weighs their judokas in kilograms, and provide them/parents the information for registration. In case of significant differences, the organizers will proceed to check the weight of the athlete.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: Proof of Age: Must be presented at the tournament site at the time of check-in. Acceptable proof of age documents include: Copy of birth certificate, passport or USJF, USJA, USA JUDO membership with verified proof of age.
Competition Method: The standard (“true”) Double Elimination System with winner’s and loser’s brackets will be used. The winner of the loser’s bracket will compete against the winner of the winner’s bracket for 1st and 2nd place. The first one of these two contestants to have two (2) losses will be placed second; the other will be placed first. The loser of the loser’s bracket will be placed 3rd.
Each athlete may only compete in their own age category.
ATTENTION:
1. The competitions will be organized by blocks.
First block Check in 9.00 am.
Start of competitions 9.30 am.
Bantam 1 y Bantam 2
Second block:
Bantam 3 y Bantam 4
At the end of the first block and will last 30 minutes.
Start of competitions at the end of check in.
2. We suggest that companions do not exceed two people per athlete, for reasons of venue capacity. The companions will enter the facilities together with the athlete.
3. We require a very composed behavior towards the children during the bouts, without exerting excessive pressure on them for the victory and maintaining in all cases the greatest discipline in the event.
4. Only accredited coaches and athletes of the competition block will be allowed on the tatami.
Coaches will wear sport or casual uniform. No caps or shorts are allowed.
Each coach is responsible for the organization and discipline of his/her athletes during the event.
5. Cost of participation to the event: $70.00 . To be paid at the time of registration on the smoothcomp platform.
THIS EVENT WILL BE LIMITED TO 70 PARTICIPANTS, ONCE THIS NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IS REACHED, THE REGISTRATION TO THE EVENT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CLOSED.
NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED ONCE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED,
THE ENTIRE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT PROCESS WILL BE DONE THROUGH SMOOTHCOMP.
