Grapple Jiu Jitsu Festival

Grapple Fest is a submission only outdoor Nogi Tournament for kids and adults of all skill levels

FORMAT

- Submission Only (or Referees Decision) Ruleset

- kids are double elimination

- adult/masters single elimination

WHAT ATTACKS ARE ALLOWED?

- kids: will follow IBJJF standard for legal submissions.

-Juveniles: will follow IBJJF White belt Standard for legal submissions

- adult/masters: white belts will follow IBJJF white belt standard for legal submissions. Blue belt and up will be Black Belt Adult IBJJF standard.

Open to ages 4 and up, all belt and skill levels.

*PARENTS PLEASE NOTE - All ages are determined by year. Meaning if your 7 year old turns 8 later this year AFTER the tournament, they will still compete as an 8 year old.

WEIGHT CLASSES

Kids:

In an effort to create more matches for kids we will be doing custom weight classes which you can view when you go to sign up. Most divisions are 10 lbs apart except for the young kids (ages 4 & 5) and up to 15 lbs for the older larger children. 

**PARENTS PLEASE NOTE - kids will receive a 2 pound allowance. This means that if they are overweight by a maximum of 2 pounds, they will be permitted to compete. If they exceed the allowance (2.1+ lbs) they will be disqualified and not compete. It is the responsibility of the competitor and/or parent to update your weight class BEFORE the final day for changes has passed (Sunday, July 10th)**  

Adult/Masters & Juvenile:

Male Divisions - We will be using ADCC weight classes

  - 65.9 kg (- 145.2 lbs)

- 76.9 kg (- 169.5 lbs)

- 87.9 kg (- 193.7 lbs)

- 98.9 kg (- 218.0 lbs)

+ 99 kg (+ 220.5 lbs)  

Female Divisions - ADCC only provides women with 2 weight classes. Out of fairness to our smaller competitors we will be offering 3 Custom weight classes

- 54.4 kg (- 120 lbs)

- 63.5 kg (- 140 lbs)

+ 64 kg (+ 141 lbs)

**ADULT/MASTERS PLEASE NOTE: you will have a 1 lb allowance. Meaning you can be a maximum of 1lb overweight for your division and still compete. If you exceed the allowance by 0.1 lbs or more, you will be disqualified and not compete**

ABSOLUTES

Absolutes will be for blue belt and up. All athletes who medal in their division qualify for absolute. For males we will have a blue belt absolute, and a purple and above Absolute for adults and masters. For the ladies we will have one absolute division for blue belt and above

WHEN DO I WEIGH IN?

Weigh-ins are held the same day of the event. Weigh ins are done with the full nogi attire on. Kids can weigh in as soon as they arrive however we will be giving priority to the youngest lowest ranked children as they will be competing first. Adults can weigh in anytime after 10am.

AGE CLASSES

Kids: All age groups are in sets of 2 years (example: 4 & 5, 6 & 7, 8 & 9 etc)

Juvenile: Age 16 - 17

Adults: 3 age groups for adults

1. ADULT (18 - 30 years old)

2. MASTERS 1 (30 - 40 years old)

3. MASTERS 2 (40 +)

Weigh-ins are held the same day of the event.  Weigh ins are done with the full nogi attire on.

Blue belt and over Adults and Masters that medal in their division can sign up for the Absolute Division.
